Hi Rod
This issue has been resolved - can you do me a favor and edit my url to the in the edited post above. This is just a family site.
Thanks
Jeanne

I created the page around_home but the LR publish service BL Around Home (aroundhome). The page is Travels and the LR publishers service is travel.

The Page URL format was /about. I changed to ?page=about and cleared browsing history and seems to have fixed the issue.  That seems to be the setting I missed?
Thanks
Jeanne

Hello
I have updated my site to use Backlight's home page (discontinued using Muse). All works great except I have encountered an issue with my drop down navigation menu.

When navigating from pages or the home page - the URL correctly navigates to:
       https://www.name-gallery.com/?page=around_home

When Navigating from an album set, album or image  - I get the Paradox 404 page not found
        https://www.name-gallery.com/around_home/

I verified the page is pointing to the correct menu. (I only have one beside the default). What setting have I missed?
Thanks
Jeanne

#5 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Limiting Search Results to Albums only » 2020-04-05 23:37:18

Thanks - can you let me know when it's updated?
I appreciate the quick responses.

Also - Looks like I'll use this time to remove the Adobe Muse front end and run with the backlight home page. Is there a document to recap the steps?
Stay well.

Thanks Rod
That worked but have one more question. When the search returns more than one page, when clicking next on the photo images, the last page displays a black box with symbols similar to "next clip" on a video. When I click it takes me to the backlight admin login page. Is there a setting I missed?
Thanks again
Jeanne

Hello
I am using Backlight's default search capability and wonder if there is a way to only show image results. I have quite a few "Album" results listed before the images causing a lot of scrolling to get to the "Photo" results.

Can I limit search results to images only?
Thanks

Closing the post with resolution found by Ben -
"The .htaccess file within the public_html directory had a rule that effectively made jpg and jpeg files unavailable:
     RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|bmp|pdf|mobi|epub)$ - [F,NC]
I've edited that file and changed that rule to the following, and it now works:
     RewriteRule .*\.(gif|png|bmp|pdf|mobi|epub)$ - [F,NC]"

I don’t know why such a broad limiting rule was put in place but thankful Ben found it.

Sorry if I referred to them wrong. I meant the published albums and sets, not the ones that are stand alone backlight. Yes - reinstalled the plug in and published. I'll take your advise and email Ben. I've tried everything I know.
Thanks

#10 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Page not saving » 2019-07-01 05:10:38

So after getting no where with Bluehost. I completely erased and reinstalled backlight, put up one page and published a few albums. No error message about Image Magick. Now I see no pictures and get the message "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later."   The logo is displayed (from the admin uploaded images). I have the backlight 2 galleries installed but plan on using lightroom so I have the LR templates on the page.

Please help direct me to fix....
Thanks

Arrghh! I was afraid of that... Bluehost support is maddening!
Thanks anyway.

Clue?

This is in the error log ... [29-Jun-2019 20:34:48 America/Chicago] PHP Warning:  Version warning: Imagick was compiled against Image Magick version 1657 but version 1650 is loaded. Imagick will run but may behave surprisingly in Unknown on line 0

The error I get "Requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later."

#14 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Page not saving » 2019-07-01 01:23:02

Hello
Okay - I gave the functional rebuild another try and am almost there to start adding content. My intent is to use backlight for my pages and wordpress for a blog (or library the sub-folder it is installed in). I have the site navigation working as I want - backlight pages for everything but the Library which is wordpress.

My problem is that the backlight gallery (published from lightroom) is showing the infamous box with a blue question mark. From all that I have learned, this looks like the htaccess file overwriting folder permissions. I admit - I am not educated on the htaccess code. Can you assist?

Thanks for your help.
Jeanne

Thanks - I appreciate the help. I will update with link when I figure out which option and need additional help. First I will take your advice and create a test folder and try a few things.

Thanks Rod
I’ll evaluate these options and get back with the forum if I have further questions. Can we edit my site name to generic for privacy reasons?
Thanks Jeanne

#17 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Page not saving » 2019-05-30 06:30:05

Thanks Rod
Here is a bit more explanation of where I am today and what I hope to do for the future.

First - named-gallery is the main domain. You are correct - backlight is installed in named-gallery/public_html/named-gallery/ . The site is currently built with Muse but links to backlight galleries (you may need to click through a few levels to see - travel —> Peru —> albums). I would like to convert from Muse to backlight for the site build. No more Muse that adobe will discontinue support on. Lightroom publishing to backlight has been easy and I would like to continue.

Second - Site2 is a sub-domain of named-gallery located in named-gallery/public_html/Site2/.  Plans for this site was to use Wordpress as illustrated in Matthews introductory YouTube video - just using the blog. I would like to create the theme for WP with several page options. I was trying to create a sample page in my original site because of issue with the bluehost WP install. They indicated my issue was the .htaccess file but did not say why.

I hope this clarifies the direction I would like to go and hopefully my structure will support both. You advice is welcome.
Thanks

#18 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Page not saving » 2019-05-29 21:26:42

Here is the structure
public_html
-- named-gallery
-------backlight only
-- site2
------wp install
------backlight

- I can post the screen shot later today - Wordpress is installed in the sub domain. Bluehost said their issue was the .htaccess file. I admit I have limited knowledge on that setup.
Thanks
Jeanne

Hello
I installed Backlight 2 and all appears to be working fine except I created a new page last night. It appeared to saved successfully, but I received the following message when I went to view in browser.

The requested URL /named-gallery/Site2_Temp/ was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache Server at www.named-gallery.com Port 80

The page file was not in the bluehost directory.  Site is named-gallery.com -The page I tried to create is in Designer as Site2_Temp.

FYI -  I have requested assistance from Bluehost on an unrelated sub domain wordpress site that is not displaying images where we completely uninstalled and re-installed wordpress. The site is still not displaying images.

Can you help please
Thanks

FYI - I am rebuilding the site so just reinstalled including the data folder - Install worked and I could log in to create credentials.
Thanks

I updated my primary site this morning to Backlight 2 and did the same process for my wordpress site with the same issue as the post on 3/8/2019 copied below. The error message "Something went wrong" Unexpected error: Undefined index: email in AdminController.pgp on line 565. Please report error at http://community.theturninggate.net.  The install completed but I was never able to login into the admin

http://www.stephensjm.com/backlight/admin/login/
thanks

I had yet again had to retrieve the password for a site this morning. And, yet again, clicking the "forgotten password link" failed because my user name/email combo is not recognized.
So, I tried all sorts of user name/password combinations to get access to the Backlight settings page until Backlight sent me a link to unlock the settings page.
Also, when I do  http://pideja.ca/tnm/backlight/admin/?a … _passwords, the file published under /backlight/data/admin/password.txt is called user.txt and it only contains the credentials "admin" and my email. That is incorrect, of course.

#21 Re: Backlight Support » Creating link to Backlight gallery from my wordpress site » 2018-07-07 08:14:29

I updated original post but will add what I found here. I did not have the correct URL in the LR TTG Publisher. Even though the sub site URL brings up the domain, I needed to add the full URL in LR for it to find the right backlight/publisher directory.  Glad I decided to walk through all the URL settings before trying to contact the server folks. Was a bit tricky to get it correct.

I may still have to call to understand how to get the subset URL displayed in the address bar when the album is retrieved. It displays the full main_url not the subsite_url that I would want to show. Well - need to call anyway I suppose but will have a simpler question.
Thanks again.

#23 Re: Backlight Support » Creating link to Backlight gallery from my wordpress site » 2018-07-06 11:52:24

Okay - so - that makes sense now that you point to the URL. FYI - this is a sub domain on Bluehost. My main site does have a redirection - could affect the setting for backlight URL?  Which directory should the .htaccess be on a site hosted in a subdirectory? Both the main site and this one are under the public_html directory.

1st - www.maindomain.com/public_html/currentBLgallery
2nd - www.maindomain.com/public_html/subsite

I don't know if wordpress is also the culprit but I deactivated all plugins with no change. The wordpress directory is the same as the directory that backlight is installed.

Calling Bluehost will be an option when I have a few hours. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

I have an existing wordpress site that I would like to link to a back light gallery. The site is a playground right now but hoping to expand when I have time.  I am getting invalid reference to the photos (box with question mark).  Backlight / photos are set up exactly like my non-wordpress site that is working fine (I even exported / imported the template). I am not trying to make the galleries wordpress pages so if I understand correctly - I don't need the add-on.

I want to get the mechanics correct before I change the templates and build additional albums. Can you advise?

Thanks

FYI  - Solution was the URL in the LR TTG Publisher - Since this was a sub-site, I needed to add the parent site to the URL. Turned out an easy fix! Thanks for the tip.

My apologies - I mis-read you message - Thanks for the help. I would ask that if something worked in CE4 and does not in Backlight, you review what had changed and perhaps incorporate to restore usable functionality.
Thanks
