Thanks Rod.
I'm using CE4 Gallery only.
The free web engine TTG released last year "TTG 2014 HTML Gallery" navigates through all photos in a gallery, independent of the index pagination. But, it uses a simpler engine and no "Touch" mode.
I'll take a closer look at Publisher to see if it might match better what I'm trying to do. It wasn't clear to me from the online documentation what additional functionality it offered over Gallery or what functionality Gallery had that Publisher didn't. One thing I do find is that Lightroom is very sluggish when operating in Web mode, so if Publisher frees me from that, that alone might make switching worthwhile.
I've set up my galleries using the "Touch" large image presentation option for both desktop and mobile. (Btw, I really like this option.)
I notice that when I have more than one index (thumbnail) page, navigation through the large images wraps within the current index page and not to large images on the next index page. This occurs whether clicking "next arrow", sliding the image to see the next, or running the slideshow.
For example if I have 50 images in my gallery and 2 index pages, index page 1 with images 1-25, and index page 2 with images 26-50. If I traverse the gallery through the large images or by slideshow, clicking "next" on image 25 shows image 1, not image 26.
Is there an option that allows large image navigation to traverse the entire gallery without having to place all gallery images in one index page?
Thanks.
I found a workaround that keeps my workflow within Gallery for all photos, including panoramas and mosaics.
1) Generate the gallery in the usual way, setting rendered image resolution to something moderate, say 1600x1200 px (W x H) for the images.
2) After the gallery has been generated, re-export from Lightroom at higher resolution those photos that benefit from being available at higher resolution, such as mosaics and panoramas.
There is no need to edit the setup.xml file, and only selected photos need to be exported at higher resolution. The two step export process is a slight hassle, especially if/when I need to regenerate the album. But, this seems to work reliably enough, and it doesn't break anything.
I have a number of photo galleries that include panorama shots mixed with regular photos (3:2 aspect ratio). Some of the panoramas are up to about 10:1 aspect ratio, and with the maximum width of 2880 px that leaves the photo height displeasingly short.
Is there a way to increase the rendered image width >2880 px so that a 10:1 image can fill the height of most HD displays, say 1200 px, suggesting a width of around 12000 px.
I like that the Touch mode allows for grabbing and scrolling an image, and the mouse wheel allows for zooming. But, this capability is constrained by the 2880 px width limit.
Thanks.
