Hi,
I'm using CE4 Pages etc and uploading galleries via Publisher. A couple of recent albums are refusing to load. They published OK from Lightroom but when viewing in a browser I get a HTTP 500 Server Error.
The problematic albums are
http://seeyourselfonline.com/galleries/ … -thursday/
http://seeyourselfonline.com/galleries/ … 15-sunday/
I also have another album within the same set which is set up the same as the above two and does work OK. The working album is at
http://seeyourselfonline.com/galleries/ … 15-friday/
Can anyone suggest why these albums aren't viewable. I'm not aware of any problems with our server and all other albums/sets we have published work fine.
The only difference I'm aware of is the number of photos within the album. The working one has 900ish but the non-working albums are approx 1100 and 1500 respectively. All albums have 100 photos per page.
Could the size of the albums be causing this problem? I'm away from the office for the next couple of days so can't experiment with different album sizes but if anyone can suggest a fix I may be able to instruct my colleagues.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Many Thanks
Tom
Thank you for the comprehensive reply Ben, I have a better understanding now how things are structured so should be able to get this tidied. Although the irrelevant entries won't cause any problems I'm a bit fussy about having a "clean" database given its size.
Of course I will ensure it's backed up before messing with it.
Cheers
Tom
Thanks for the help gents.
Rod - I'm confident editing the album table as I've done it a few times before but am concerned that there will also be entries in the photo, photo_keyword and photo_metadata tables relating to the deleted albums. I'm guessing it won't cause too many problems to leave the unused lines in there but as some of those tables are a couple of million lines it would be good if I could keep them as compact as possible.
Do you have any more information regarding the structure of the database that may help me?
Ben - It's just one set containing 12 albums that needs to be removed. We have other albums totalling 100,000s of pics so it's not practical to start from scratch. Thanks anyway.
Cheers
Tom
Hi,
Following a hard drive corrupting we have lost a catalog file used to upload an album set & some albums via Publisher. I now wish to remove this set and albums within.
Is there a simple way of doing this? I'm aware I can just delete the folders via FTP but this won't remove the entries from the database.
Is it a case of editing the database manually or is there a simpler way?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Tom
Thanks for the reply Rod, that was quick!
I do have the navigation items set to my grey/white colour scheme, however only the top level of the menu is showing those colours. The drop down menu remains in the default colours, see screenshot.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Many Thanks
Tom
Hi,
I'm using the CE4 wordpress theme and have a problem with nested/multi-level menus not following the formatting defined in the plugin. The top level of the menu is fine but the drop-down is in the default colours/font of black text & white background with blue mouseover (as on theturninggate.net).
My site is at http://seeyourselfonline.com/wordpress/
Can anyone advise how I can change this so the drop-down looks like the rest of the menu.
Thanks
Tom
I’ve been using CE4 for about 5 months now and the time has come to write a quick review. I don’t usually write reviews but I am so impressed it would be rude not to!
Our site previously used a feature rich gallery software but it was very 1990s, did not support mobile devices and due to the size of our database (1-2 million photos) the page load times were unbearably slow, sometimes a minute or so if it didn’t time out. It was also very expensive, approx £1000 + expensive annual support contract.
Since upgrading to CE4 we have seen around 50% increase in online sales. I think this is primarily due to the support for mobile devices and speed of the site. Although our database is much smaller than the old site (150,000 photos) the page load times remain very fast. It’s easy to navigate and looks great on all devices.
The only site I’ve set up before was a text site about 20 years ago, however as a newbie I found the plugins intuitive with good supporting documentation. They make it easy to produce a professional looking site for people with no web design experience.
The ease of uploading photos via the publisher plugin has also saved about 4 hours work a week as it can be left to run after the photos are edited. The shopping cart is very user friendly and works great with digital downloads which make up the majority of our sales. We used to receive regular complaints about difficulty downloading photos, since the change to TTG we get maybe 1 or 2 a week from some less computer literate customers.
The support provided by Matt & Ben is second to none and best of all is free! We recently added a woocommerce shopping cart to the site and I was pleased to find that support for this was added to the Wordpress theme on request from a single customer. You don’t get that kind of support elsewhere. When we launched the site we also needed some custom coding done to add support for multiple watermarks. It was done in 2 days and very reasonably priced.
Overall I can’t believe that CE4 works so well, is constantly being developed and costs so little. It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to our website.
Keep up the good work guys, you have no idea how much it’s appreciated.
Cheers
Tom
Thanks for taking the time to ensure the theme is compatible with woocommerce, it works great.
The only issue I found was the add to cart buttons were not following the theme colour scheme (problem with woocommerce I think judging by the number of results on google). I found a bit of code on the wordpress forum that can be added to the theme.css allowing the button colour to be changed.
Keep up the good work!

Hi,
Does anyone know if it's possible to add a field for additional comments anywhere during the PayPal checkout process. I'm fairly sure the cart software doesn't support additional fields when checking out via PayPal but I think it may be possible to add a field for notes on the PayPal checkout screen.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Tom
Thanks Ben, I've forwarded a copy of the order confirmation to your email
Hi,
We've recently taken a payment of a PayPal eCheque for a digital download. The payment has not yet cleared but the customer was given the download link.
Is there any way of preventing the cart from giving the link until the payment has cleared? Or can it be set to refuse echeque payments?
I've seen the below setting in localisations that indicates the cart does differentiate between echeque and normal payments but cannot find any other settings.
TEXT_PENDING_REASON_ECHECK The payment is pending because it was made by an eCheck that has not yet cleared.
Thanks
Tom
Thanks for your reply Rod, I have now republished the site with the ttg-be directory in the root alongside the other pages files & directories.
Unfortunately the same error still occurs with Internet Explorer. Have you any idea why this is happening?
Many Thanks
Tom
Hi all,
I've just set up a first draft of my TTG site and am experiencing an error when viewing with Internet Explorer (64bit version, bundled with Windows 7). The site works fine in Firefox, Chrome & Safari but errors with IE, see screenshot. I've checked out a few other TTG sites linked to on this forum and found most work but the error also appears with one other.
Can anyone suggest a fix?
Many Thanks
Tom
Thanks for your help Ben & Rod, much appreciated.
I have set the root directory of my site to one level above ttg-be and added a .htaccess to redirect all traffic to the ttg directory. Problem solved!
Cheers
Tom
Hi Ben,
Thanks for your reply.
I have uploaded the ttg-be directory within the root of my server (httpdocs), and uploaded the publisher directory within ttg-be but to avoid the need to have /ttg-be in the site address I have set the root directory of the domain name within my server settings to the ttg-be directory. Therefore, ttg-be is effectively the root directory the domain points to and my URLs are e.g. monsterbooths.com/galleries.php etc
I expect it would work if I set up as you instructed but I want to avoid having ttg-be as part of the site address as I have seen with other TTG powered sites.
Do you know how this can be achieved.
Thanks again for any suggestions
Tom
Hi,
I'm a new user to CE4 and am having some trouble with setting up Publisher correctly.
My site is at monsterbooths.com and the ttg-be directory is set within my server to be the top level directory for my domain, therefore all ttg elements are at monsterbooths.com/index.php, monsterbooths.com/galleries.php etc
When I try setting the galleries directory in LR as on the screenshot it errors.
I can get LR to accept and publish albums using "ttg-be/galleries" as the directory but this creates broken links on the published album, i.e. the album creates links such as monsterbooths.com/ttg-be/galleries.php
I hope I have explained this correctly and would be grateful if anyone can anyone advise how this can be rectified.
Many Thanks
Tom
