#1 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Slow downloads and heavy siteloads » 2019-11-02 06:29:42

Hi, I'm using Binero here in Sweden. Havn't had any issues until setting up this site. The wierd thing is that most of the time it goes slow but then on occations its superfast. And the image in the Mast head is less then 200kb now after updating the old one and still that seems to be the thing that causes this problem. I could maybe add 1 or 2 extra seconds for loading that over a slow connection but more than 30sec is wierd.

Here is the link to all the results from the performance report. Ben should I email you the login-settings to have you take a look?

Anyone who cares to look into this report and try to understand whats going wrong! I've updated the background image but it still seems to be the issue there! 33.06sek to load an image that is just south of 140kb.
Is this caused by something in Backlight2 or is this an issue for the web provider? They can't find anything in their end after quite careful investigation.
Around 35sek to load the first page is enough to scare visitors away for sure! sad

I do wish the suggestion you made tgalex was the explaination but thats not the case my masthead is less than 300kb and the text (as a png on top) is around 40kb. All my design images that is loaded on regular basis is all way less than 1mb.

#6 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Slow downloads and heavy siteloads » 2019-10-29 04:46:00

I do think that the BG image is quite small but its a good advice! I'll take a look at it! What annoys me is that it does load really quick on some ocations and sometimes it doesnt even seem to load the site at all (like nothing). But I guess if the size of the BG would be too big it could sometimes be loaded from the cache. I'll look into it!

#7 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Slow downloads and heavy siteloads » 2019-10-29 02:27:35

Well most of the files are less than 1200px jpg, and normally save them with compression 9 in PS or similar in Lightroom. So the images should not be the issue. Even pages without images are slow to download. Sometimes its not really like it feels like it slow with downloading due to size more to some other kind of issue, like it does "get stuck" for a while, hard to describe but loading a page with one or two images over a 200mbit LAN should not take 45-50sek... and then it should load the webpage and leave the image out I would guess!

Hi

Im using the latest version of Backlight 2 on a website called www.sverigesnationalparker.nu and have a problem with the loading times on the site. I've been in contact with my ISP (the ones hosting) and they can't find anything wrong with the sites. I get the same results on multiple computers with various OS (mac and pc) and what happens is that it sometimes is loading for ever, almost to the point where the site is un-responsive and it takes for ever to upload/download/edit/browse and use the site.
The site is not very heavy on graphics and consists mainly of text and small .jpgs that I try to keep small, might be to big for super fast downloads but should not in any way cause these delays.

Is there anything in the code from backlight and TTG that could cause this that I could look into before I curse at my provider (joke).
I want to be sure its not me and "my code" that causes this!

Thanks in advance! And thanks to everyone involved in making TTG so great! /Daniel

Hi. I've been trying to figure out how to get my Galleries page to become the indexpage for my website! Currently i have a separate indexfile which is just annoying and it would make much more sense to have visitor arrive directly on the galleries page when they open my website!

Any simple setting to fix this that Im missing?

#11 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Custom cover image in album in lightroom publisher » 2019-02-22 01:39:18

Rob, i tried that as well to be honest! I'm sure I made some mistake and that it might work but since the other solution with just adding the files manually into the "custom-thumbnails folder" was so simple it was a much easier fix for me! If you figure it out thou feel free to let me know what I did wrong! ;-)

Either way I must say that after going from a CE4 site to a Backlight 2 im really impressed with the new version.... really easy to work with!

#12 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Custom cover image in album in lightroom publisher » 2019-02-21 23:47:26

Even with the hyphen it doesn't work, however the very simple solution with just putting it in the albums custom_thumbnail folder was the simple solution I was looking for so thanks for that, it fixed my problems! Thanks!
Couldn't find any documentation about this in the backlight2 info thou... I might have missed it(?) if not would be great to add there!

Either way my problem is solved so thanks for the quick reply!

#13 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Custom cover image in album in lightroom publisher » 2019-02-21 21:15:49

Hey, I have the same issues as mentioned above. I have a "album set" containing a few albums and have created a "hidden" album with thumbnails. It works great with using the cover image in the hidden folder for the "album set" however folders at the same level in the chain are not able to read/find images from the hidden album (at the same level in the hierarchy)

This is how it looks
ALBUM SET
-Album 1
-Album 2
-custom_thumbnails

and album 1 and 2 should be able to read from the custom_thumbnails.

Any simple work around to this issue?

/Daniel

#14 Re: CE4 Stage » Panorama » 2015-06-15 20:34:32

Now that would be an logic an easy explanation to the problem, however its not correct! The files are both EXCATLY 600px high, thats been checked in Lightroom AND OS X file info says the same thing!

The dimensions of the files are:
1067x600 and 3547x600

#15 Re: CE4 Stage » Panorama » 2015-06-15 02:04:13

I've tried changing them around. As far as I understand the first one is the cropped one which is 16x9 ratio and then the actually panorama? correct?

Hi

Im trying to create a page to display panorama pictures. I have a panorama picture which I've exported and changed size of from the initial 10144x1716 px that it is... The new version Im trying to use and currently are linking to is 4729x800. From that file I've also created a copy with 16x9 ratio and a dimension of 1422x800px.
Im using CE4 and if you'd look at http://www.airframe.se/galleries/panorama/ you'd see it looks a bit goofy...

Any clue what Im missing here?

#17 Re: CE4 Gallery » Gallery with Fotomoto and watermarking » 2015-06-08 00:12:43

Yeah... which i've read but still missed it! So I guess mainly on me but still ..

#18 Re: CE4 Gallery » Gallery with Fotomoto and watermarking » 2015-06-07 23:47:32

I see.. that answers a few questions! I was kind of looking for something like that but without finding that info! Even thou that lays at the Fotomoto end it might be good to add some kind of link or short explanation about it under the documentation you have about the Fotomoto integration as it might help people in the future as well!?

Any how big thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

#19 Re: CE4 Gallery » Gallery with Fotomoto and watermarking » 2015-06-07 23:35:47

But Fotomoto reads straight from the gallery as far as I can see and the tumbnail displayed on the fotomoto preview has the watermarking on it!

Hi

I have a quick question which Ive been looking for the answer for but could not find in the documentation.
Im adding a gallery to my site which I intend to use for sales via Fotomoto. What Im now trying to find out is first of all if I want to be able to provide fotomoto (and the customer) with a high res picture do I have to click the allow image download box or just make sure that the Large image with is big enough under "images renditions" ?

2n question, watermarking, I would prefer to be able to watermark the large images that is being uploaded to the site using the normal settings in publisher however then it seems like those images including the watermark gets uploaded to fotomoto as well! Is there any good way around this or anything I need to change in my config?

#21 Re: CE4 Publisher » Albums from publisher wont show on my galleries page » 2015-05-20 03:59:25

Great! I'll look in to those options and see what fits! Have a great night!

#22 Re: CE4 Publisher » Albums from publisher wont show on my galleries page » 2015-05-20 03:16:07

By the way, havn't had time to look at the search functions yet, is that work on roughly the same principle, you choose a template and create an page similar to galleries and let publisher use that one for the search functions?

#23 Re: CE4 Publisher » Albums from publisher wont show on my galleries page » 2015-05-20 03:10:59

Yepp! That fixed it! Thanks, as always a great support forum!

Hi

I have an issue with my galleries page... its loading the two albums i've published with publisher but it doesn't load the full normal layout and also not the actual thumbnails for the albums. However it loads the two names of the albums. I assume I've missed something!?

(The site is created with pages and ive installed the plugins for ttg-be and i think i've set everything up there, on top of that there is an autoindex in the templates folder in -BE and two different gallery templates that i've also tried with).

The adress is www.airframe.se

Any help would be appreciated. /Daniel

#25 Re: CE4 Stage » Turning off the zoom feature » 2015-04-06 00:36:05

Yeah okay! Thanks I'll try that one! I think that was a clickbox in CE3... would it be possible to put it back for the future?
I don't really see the use of it other than it might look a bit cool... is there any other features with it that I'm missing?
