Those exact links would be perfect added to the page that Matt was originally referencing IMO
http://backlight.theturninggate.net/doc … t_response
I've been to the metadata token page, and exactly how to enter them was assumed for the most part. [at one point {filename} appeared on published page]
I'm embarrassed to be the fool who suggests to make things more foolproof
Thank you

Thank you for inviting the community to provide input. I'm a long time member, and happy to have TTG tools
Some more info at the top would be great
the Client Response Add-on MUST be installed [a link to get and install http://theturninggate.net/backlight-2/ under add-ons tab]
[some instructions on installing add-on server side]
Backlight Modules area of the admin [location within Backlight 2]
To get started [must assign client first?] [instructions adding client]
You may have up to six pieces of metadata on display; use Metadata Tokens [syntax guidelines?] [where (in template, page or album)]
Info on what's needed Lightroom Publish side
any troubleshooting, or FAQ, or link to forum might be good
Thanks

#3 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Client response questions » 2019-10-10 09:49:50

Never mind about "that page" (which was client response page) It had to do with top level gallery which I had to make another top level gallery on the server side and LR publish.
However that does not display properly as a client response gallery
For managed I entered my own email, I can get in, but will need to test on different machines
Any help on error messages that come up and selections still not working?
"Something went wrong" error
"requested content cannot be loaded"
both can be closed out, but with each image, not usable.
re download and re install client response module?

#4 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Trouble with albums » 2019-10-10 07:50:35

Hi, thank you -hmm. Many attempts ago. The attempts have been numerous and not chronicled at all
The "something went wrong" message has been early -no idea what might trigger it
I did upload to the new top level, and on the client page, so just clicking through shows the page (weird)
and a regular gallery display started (not client)

Daniel's is good. Top level addition worked, but did not help. I added myself as the client, but still  have error messages
-"something went wrong"...
-It's not displaying client response type page.
-(selection had never worked)
-and additional error message "requested content cannot be loaded"
please help I'm trying to be my own hacker, but need this to happen (meeting with client Very soon)

#6 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Client response questions » 2019-10-10 02:47:52

Less yay. none of it is working checkboxes for select and feedback were already enabled. I've republished. Nothing changes.
I am hesitant to make album managed since Lightroom publish shows an access code grayed out, I don't know what that code is,
Sorry I had that one issue reversed -filenames not appearing on large images, even though metadata settings in album seem correct.
I can't seem to navigate how to get album sets on that page rather than the album itself. NOt sure where to start (or start over) on that... I had trouble with top level gallery structure recently and don't know the status of that issue.
I am hesitant to publish the new album, since the issues are unresolved.
I'm not recalling how previous versions were set up. Some of the doc instructions are so sparse, it's like a dead end. Any screen shots of the Lightroom publish end? or where else to look? Unsure if reinstalling is needed somehow -don't know where to start, and I need to do this today.

Hi, I hastily set up a client album, and many things didn't work. Lil' embarrassment occurred. I'm using through Lightroom, and there are settings in about 4 different places between, Lightroom and Backlight 2. Can I get help with locations of items, and set up
-check marks for selecting were unavailable
-comments also inactive link
-client login seemed to be set up, but password was denied -is that in Lightroom side or client setup Backlight side?
-filenames as titles appear on large version but not in gallery
Anything that is step by step would be great
Thanks very much

Hi & thx I am trying to create a client response album and many things are going wrong.
-I installed proper module
-added client
-created an album that published to the wrong page (galleries default)
-I deleted that page (making others) but album still going to wrong page/missing
-I guess I'm not really understanding top level galleries -why my album went to galleries page
-How to change location/ assign page [in Lightroom?] for client album -top level galleries(?)

That's all I want to do for the moment asap

#9 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Trouble installing » 2019-10-01 16:49:20

OK, I solved it. Searched 'install' Got ideas and parameters from Rod answers. Turns out, one of my domains (I have a few) was not pointed correctly (to public folder) and Netfirms hosting support redirected for me. Now back in business. I hope this helps someone else. thx

I have placed files on the server, -getting 404 errors trying access domain/backlight/installer page -have replaced with alternate and updated versions a few times. Am dead in the water. Host is Netfirms, htaccess is in the directory, and php version is 5.5. I have added a second site directory to my host root directory, which they say should be OK. Stumped.

Thanks, Can someone list the procedures for adding a client gallery for a group? I'd like to allow access by giving the URL and password to a group. It seems to be set up for a single user (entering email) Let me know what I'm missing in LR side and browser based side Thanks very much.

#12 Re: CE4 Gallery » Downloading All Images at Once » 2018-10-18 04:55:25

Thanks, can you provide a more detailed description of instructions plz?

#14 Re: CE4 Gallery » Downloading All Images at Once » 2018-10-17 14:40:32

Is there any progress on this? If the above works? If there is an additional and hopefully simpler explanation of how this would be done in current version. I have the client asking to download all, other methods above are not great, and retail file sharing services were also not a good in this case. Since I have given the CRG as an option for them, it is now embarrassing, and another workaround for them and me.

#15 Re: Backlight Support » Background image for template -all pages » 2017-06-29 23:45:45

Yeah that did it. Thanks Rod
I thought there was something up with those curly braces, but was too confused to actually read the code properly. lol
Thanks
(caught how to adjust opacity, and will try)
thx

#16 Re: Backlight Support » Background image for template -all pages » 2017-06-29 22:21:03

Have also tried this. Doesn't change the page. Very odd

html,
body,
main {
    background: linear-gradient(90deg, #ffffff 50%, #fafafa 50%, #fafafa);

    background-color: #000;
    background-image: URL(http://ljdservice.com/backlight/designer/?c=page&a=image&p1=2);
    background-attachment: fixed;
    background-position: center top;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-size: cover;

div.transbox {
  margin: 30px;
  background-color: #ffffff;
  border: 1px solid black;
  opacity: 0.6;
  filter: alpha(opacity=60); /* For IE8 and earlier */
}

div.transbox p {
  margin: 5%;
  font-weight: bold;
  color: #000000;
}
</style>
</head>
<body>

#19 Re: Backlight Support » Background image for template -all pages » 2017-06-29 11:40:25

Thanks for doing that!!!! but, hmm,
I'm not a coder. Tried a couple diff syntax's
Here's a later one (including path to bkgnd image)

html,
body,
main {
    background: linear-gradient(90deg, #ffffff 50%, #fafafa 50%, #fafafa);

    background-color: #000;
    background-image: URL(http://ljdservice.com/backlight/designer/?c=page&a=image&p1=2);
    background-attachment: fixed;
    background-position: center top;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-size: cover;

/*Background transparent*/

    .masthead,
    nav,
    .main, .page__main,
    .page__tray[data-position="T1"],
    .page__tray[data-position="T2"]
        background-color: rgba( 255, 255, 255, 0.5 );
}
/*Background transparent*/

body {  }

#20 Re: Backlight Support » Background image for template -all pages » 2017-06-28 15:04:00

Progress. I made a new .css file in a new free html editor, instead of replacing a section of campagna.css in a simple ext editor
Now the photo appears in the background -great, thanks. Only that one section of code was needed to accomplish the desired effect.
Now I have tried to make the main table field transparent with page background, main column, tray columns but still have white.
What to try next? Another chunk of custom css? What might that code look like?
Thanks

#21 Re: Backlight Support » Favicon image does not appear » 2017-06-28 14:54:45

OK Progress. Thanks. I thought that favicon image was correct, but had overlooked size and format, after moving too quickly. Thanks.

Uploaded and the path is http://ljdservice.com/backlight/designe … image&p1=3
When trying to select the image, the pulldown is empty and does nothing. Using Firefox.
Backlight and files in public_html directory on server -not sure if that has an effect www.ljdservice.com
Can't get custom css to work either

#23 Re: Backlight Support » Background image for template -all pages » 2017-06-28 04:56:42

Nothing is working. "enabling" campagna.css gives a black background and changes type color. The edits you gave do not change the pages. The other css files do not change the pages. Frustrating

#24 Re: Backlight Support » Background image for template -all pages » 2017-06-06 03:24:58

That looks promising. Thanks Rod. I will try it a little later.
I was assuming since the design had changed, that the custom css was being enabled, I will try the other css files and see what happens. There also might be something up with the server directory structure that I can address (recent problem)
Yes that's the site url that I'm working on for my friend

#25 Re: Backlight Support » Background image for template -all pages » 2017-06-05 23:28:45

Did that. (both things) along with many other attempts.
When I enable campagna.css and click save, it turns the background black. (so something works there) I have downloaded my edited version, and opened it to see that it is in fact my edited version. (so it uploaded to the server)
I can disable the campagne file and the pages return to my designed colors (so something works there)
A least from posting here, I see that the link to the image produces an image.
wondering about the syntax...
