#1 Re: CE4 Publisher » pages-gallery; some slide transitions are jerky » 2015-03-30 01:23:32

Thanks Rod.
I don't intend to have naming option active. It just seems easier to leave them as they appear in Lightroom.
Can I just delete the extra occurrences? I republished the gallery a couple of times.

I checked and the rename was ticked, so I changed it to no renaming. Then republished.
Now the webpage says it can't find the images

The title says it.

When the slide show for this site http://dmwfotos.com/weddings/ runs several of the slide transitions are not smooth.
When the image after the bride with "groom"glasses is ready to transition, it flashes two or three times before changing.

I have reordered and republished the gallery several times via publisher with no change in the behavior.

Lightroom is set to custom order for the image sequencing and the publisher template is set for Lightroom to manage order. Yet, the image that is flickering is not behind the bride with "groom" glasses. Its in a completely different location.

OK thanks.
I'll put the image on my site and link it.

Here is the message I get went trying to create the pages-gallery album for the dmwfotos site.

#5 Re: CE4 Publisher » serious problem with pages export » 2015-02-10 00:52:14

I think I've done what you're describing.
I have publisher on the server in tag-be.
Then in Lightroom I have publish services for the different sites. For example to get galleries to the architecture site, I have a service that has the gallery location as "/architecture/gallery". That works fine for publishing galleries, even with nesting. However, when I tried to add the second instance of home page gallery publish services it hiccuped.

I'll do some more testing.

I have a screen grab of the publish service panel. Not sure how to show it to you.

Rob,
I just created a version of the main dmwfotos site with the publisher managed home page gallery removed and its working fine.
That seems to be the problem.

So, the question is; How can I implement it so the publisher managed gallery is possible on both the main and the sub sites?

Thanks,
David

#7 Re: CE4 Publisher » serious problem with pages export » 2015-02-09 09:23:28

What do you mean about separate Publisher instances for each?
I have Publisher in the root directory for the main site.
Do I also need it in the sub-site root directory?
I get the impression, for the way things have worked until I tried to add the published gallery for the home page, that having tag-be in the root directory worked for any sub-sites as well.

It has for publishing galleries to each sites gallery folder.

My site is structured like this:

dmwfotos
      /architecture
      /weddings

the two sub-sites are each created with Pages, the only real difference, once the rebuild is complete will be the navigation menus

Each sub-site has its own galleries folder that is populated via publisher to create albums.

I updated the architecture site to incorporate the publisher managed home page gallery and it works fine. The "pages-gallery" is in the galleries folder as it should be.

The problems started when I tried to update the dmwfotos site to include a publisher managed home page gallery. When I uploaded that website as exported from the Web Module the problems started.

#8 Re: CE4 Publisher » serious problem with pages export » 2015-02-09 08:50:04

Rob,
The intent is for the main site (dmwfotos) to use a template created in Stage that has this title: DMWFOTOS-CE4-STAGE-GALLERIA-HOMEPAGE-PUBLISHER-TEMPLATE.

The architecture sub-site it to use the template titled: DMWFOTOS-ARCHITECTURE-HOME-PAGE-PUBLISHER-TEMPLATE.

Both templates are in the templated/gallery folder in tag-be.

Hope that helps.

David

#9 Re: CE4 Publisher » serious problem with pages export » 2015-02-09 08:05:36

Yes.
Its my understanding that the publisher, cart etc. in the TTG-BE folder in the root is used by other TTG instances in subdirectories.
It seems to work fine with templates used in the gallery folders.
Its just that when I attempted to setup the publisher support for the home page that things go wacko.

I am in the process of updating my website.
I have a main site created with Pages, and two child sites nested below; architecture and weddings.

This yesterday and this morning I was finishing up the fine tuning on the architecture site.

One feature I added is the ability to publish the home page gallery via Publisher.

Once that was done and tested I decided to add the same capability to the main site.

I saved the architecture pages template to the main site template in the web module and then went into the navigation section to make changes to two navigation elements; home and one that was originally setup to go to the main site which I changed to go to the architecture site.

I saved the template, and exported. Then uploaded to my hosting service (GODADDY)

Unfortunately, when I go to the main site URL http://dmwfotos.com I get the architecture site and can not get to the main  site.

I uploaded just the newly exported site files into a test directory T1 URL is http://dmwfotos.com/T1/ Using that URL also goes to the architecture site rather than the main site.

HELP!

David

#11 Re: CE4 Client Response Gallery » Problem with Client Galleries in CE4 CRG » 2015-02-01 01:54:37

Thanks Rod,
That worked. Thought I'd updated Publisher.
Took me three of four tries to get it to work.
Kept getting a message the template with $ couldn't be found.
Forgot that I had to do into CRG admin and change the gallery name.

The $ was a typo.

I think I've done things properly but when I try to access the gallery I get a blank screen.

The test gallery is here by following the Clients gallery box; http://dmwfotos.com/galleries.php

When I click assign album in the CRG client admin I get this:

#13 Re: CE4 Pages » Getting verticals taller than horizontal height » 2015-01-07 04:17:23

Rob,
Thanks for your help.
I went back to the pages layout and refined it a bit.

You could also try creating a slide show of all horizontals or all verticals.

Rod

That's the frustration.

Its limiting to have to select images for a gallery based on aspect ratio and/or orientation just to get them in the proper place on the screen.

Thanks for the help. Great plugins, but the limitations are frustrating.

#15 Re: CE4 Pages » Getting verticals taller than horizontal height » 2015-01-03 00:57:32

Rob,
I uploaded a new version with the changes to 900 pix that you suggested but left the page container set to auto.

One thing I noticed, which may be the reason for the sinking, is that the copyright and return to top of page lines are way below the viewable area on the screen. Where is the page depth set? Changing that may correct the situation.

#16 Re: CE4 Pages » Getting verticals taller than horizontal height » 2015-01-03 00:39:19

Thanks Rob.
The problem, for me, is that when selecting a square aspect ratio, and then having a horizontal oriented image is that the image is centered in the vertical space. That leads to the horizontal images sinking down on the page. What I am hoping for is that the vertical images stay at the top of the container, that square images fill the container and that vertical images are centered right to left in the container. That will result, in my view, in a properly displayed gallery on the page.

That will also permit selecting a container size that will fit various sized monitors.

I'll try your suggestions. I've done a lot of playing around with parameters trying to find something that works which has resulted in my thinking that the root of the problem for me is the horizontal images sinking. That seems to occur regardless of the container size.

#17 Re: CE4 Pages » Getting verticals taller than horizontal height » 2014-12-31 04:37:21

Rob,
While this is working the problem is that the horizontal images are sinking to the middle of the frame and thus are low on the page.
I have not been able to find a way to keep everything at the top of the frame.
Suggestions.

David

#19 Re: CE4 Pages » Getting verticals taller than horizontal height » 2014-12-22 03:20:03

OK,
Thanks Rob.
When I put the Galleria aspect ratio to 1:1 it cropped the horizontal images to squares. I did not do anything to output settings so I'll give that a try.

On the home page of my site http://davidmward.photography/ I would like the vertical images taller than the height of the horizontal images. How do I accomplish that when setting up the gallery?

I tried changing some dimensions but all it seemed to do was make the horizontal images bigger.

Thanks,

David

#21 Re: General » Nesting albums in CE4 » 2014-09-13 05:20:46

One thing i've noticed is that the nesting does not extend to the navigation menu.
How is that accomplished?

#22 Re: General » Nesting albums in CE4 » 2014-09-11 00:32:15

Thanks Rob.
I think I've got it working properly

I've searched around the documentation and the forum and can't seem to find the answer about how to set this up.

On the site (using CE4) ( http://davidmward.photography ) I would like to have the menu function with this structure:

portfolios
     Gallery 1
          album 1
          album 2
    Gallery 2
          album 1
          album 2

I would like all the albums to be publishable and updatable via publisher.

I have auto-index, as well as pages and stage. The main site was created using pages, which, if I understand correctly means that the Gallery page is an auto-index structure.
