LR 5 Removes Web and User Templates

I just upgraded to LR 5 and to my surprise my Web User Templates and the TTG Templates were not carried forward from the LR 4 directories.

Re: LR 5 Removes Web and User Templates

I've not had that problem. All of the web engines as well as all TTG and User Templates were carried forward.
Are the web engines still showing up in the Web Module's Layout Style pane?

As far at the templates, where were you storing them? with the Catalog or in the Lightroom common folder?
If you want them to be available to all catalogs, you need to install them as per this:
http://ce3wiki.theturninggate.net/doku. … b_template
Also, in the Lightroom Preferences:Presets, make sure that Store presets with this catalog is not checked.

Re: LR 5 Removes Web and User Templates

Thanks Rod...I actually had them stored according to the Windows 7... instructions on the link you sent.  But neither the TTG nor my templates were visible when I was initially in LR5-->WEB

OK, so I found the User Templates in the following directory.....

C:\Users\LVV\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Headlights\Lightroom\Web Templates\User Templates

Re: LR 5 Removes Web and User Templates

Yep, that is where I found my User Templates.  So for some reason the upgrade moved them, as well as, the TTG templates to the Web Templates of that target folder.

I have since copied them over to the following folder, which is where they belong and they are there.

C:\Users\LVV\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Web Templates\User Templates

Re: LR 5 Removes Web and User Templates

So all is well now?

I'd never noticed that Headlights folder before. Mine is dated 11/22/2011 so it's been there for awhile. Doing what?

Re: LR 5 Removes Web and User Templates

Thanks Rod,

It must have been where the LR4 directories wound up during the upgrade.

The one thing I am not sure I understand is the "Store presets with catalog".  Where do I access them when I am in the Web module.

I.E. When I set this Preference On my templates disappear from the left listing of User Templates.  I couldn't find it anywhere in Help.

Re: LR 5 Removes Web and User Templates

Store Presets with Catalog means that any presets you create are only available to the catalog in which they were created.  and LR will only look in the catalog's stored presets folder instead of the shared folder. That's why your templates disappear.
It's best not to use it
