Backlight 2 Login Problem

I am attempting to upgrade from Backlight to Backlight 2 using the upgrade guide. I have Backlight 2 installed, and when I attempt to login in, I get a username (admin) and password rejection. I tried my password and the "ttg8888" and neither work. I tried the forgot my password link, put in my username (admin) and email address and get this message.

SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1 no such column: email in PdoExtended.php on line 524

I don't know what to do next.

Can you assist me?

Thanks,

Jack

Re: Backlight 2 Login Problem

are you using your old Backlight username and password to log in (as opposed to your login to your customer account on the ttg site)?

Prior to updating, did you delete/remove all files from your backlight/ folder on your site EXCEPT the data/ and custom/ folders?

Did you make sure to upload the index.php and .htaccess files from the root of the unzipped download file to the root of the site. These need to replace the old index.php and .htaccess files.

Re: Backlight 2 Login Problem

Rod,

To your questions;

1. Yes.

2. Yes.

3. I copied them over.

Same result. Could not login and forgot password link yields same error.

Re: Backlight 2 Login Problem

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue? I cannot get to my galleries as my site I guess is in between Backlight 1 and Backlight 2.

Thanks,

Jack

Re: Backlight 2 Login Problem

Hi Jack, see if the instructions here help: http://backlight.theturninggate.net/doc … _passwords
In particular the section In the event that you are not able to receive the email in step 4:

If that still doesn't get you in can you provide me with FTP access and site URL so that I can look further into it.

Re: Backlight 2 Login Problem

Ben good talking to you. It has been a while. Hope you are good, and you day is going well.

Regarding my problem, I tried all the items on the link you sent me. None worked. The logs just have the error message in them.

Not sure how to grant you FTP access.

I am trying to convert my test site to Backlight B2 before doing my other 3 sites. I will admit, I am a bit worried as this one didn't work.

Site with problem is stuffbyjack.com/backlighttest

Thanks for your help.

Re: Backlight 2 Login Problem

the error implies that the index.php file is missing.
In the downloaded and unzipped Backlight-2-Installer-107 folder, you'll see:

backlight/
galleries/
.htaccess
index.php

Make sure you've uploaded the index.php and .htaccess files to the root of your site on the same level as the backlight/ folder (not inside of the backlight/ folder, there are other index.php and .htaccess files inside of that folder already)
In this case, make sure those two files are uploaded to the backlighttest/ folder

To grant Ben ftp access, you need to either send him your ftp credentials or create access for him by logging into your host, going to the FTP area of the cPanel, and creating another login and sending that info to him.

Re: Backlight 2 Login Problem

Rod,

I understand your response, and have deleted the old index.php and .htaccess files and added the ones from the unzipped Backlight-2-Installer-107 folder. I made sure of this from your first response as well. It dose not fix my problem.

I have the FTP info for Ben. How do I get him that info? I obviously do not want to post it here.

Thanks,

Jack
