Social Media Icon Line

I am recreating my web site in a test region using BL 2 and the Pangolin templates. The social media line appears at the top of my web page. Can it be moved to the bottom of the page? Also, the background of the social media line shows as white; my background image, which shows on the rest of the page, does not fill the social media line. Can this be corrected?

An unrelated question, is there any way to use the Adobe type fonts?

Re: Social Media Icon Line

You can put the social media in the footer via phplugins. You’ll actually need to replace the existing footer code with your own.
Here’s a post on how: http://ttg-tips-and-tricks.barbeephoto. … -pangolin/
It was written prior to the release of Backlight 2 so the phplugins function needs to be modified to conform with BL 2.
Use

function footer_top() {
.............

instead

Have you tried making the background color of Social Media transparent?

Re: Social Media Icon Line

Thanks for the link, Rod. I'll have a closer look as my redesign progresses. For now I have removed the social medial icons. However, the problem of the line being white and not showing my background pattern still remains because the search icon still shows. How do I get rid of it?

The background colour for the social media icons refers to the icons themselves.

Use of Adobe type fonts?

Re: Social Media Icon Line

Try changing the background colors in the top pallet for both the pallet and buttons

You can get rid of the search button in the top pallet area as well. It’s called Quick Search and is toward the bottom of the Top Pallet section

What about Adobe type fonts?

Re: Social Media Icon Line

How do I get rid of the top pallet entirely? I have removed the search button; and all colours, background and others, are showing an "X" other than the Overlay Color which doesn't have the "X" option. "Has Height" options are both set off. Border-top and Border-bottom are both set to zero. I still have a white or clear band across the top of the web site page instead of my background pattern.

How can I use Adobe fonts in Backlight 2?

Re: Social Media Icon Line

Can you post a link to a page showing the problem.
(Also try clearing template and browser cache)

On the fonts, you’ll probably need to use phplugins. Check Adobe’s instructions and see this post:

Re: Social Media Icon Line

I appear to have fixed the problem by playing around with different Masthead parameters.

I'll look into the links you provided me in the preceding responses to my questions. Thanks, Rod.
