Does anyone know how to just update the metadata only in an album? I can’t seem to find it and I really don’t have the time nor the patience to be a beta tester for this software?

Every time you need to make a change in metadata you'll need to republish the images affected. If using Lightroom, you can speed this up by checking the "Push Metadata without updating existing photos" checkbox in the Publisher Settings.
If you need to change the metadata being displayed, you'll need to change the metadata tokens being used
