Wordpress wp-content not found when saving template

I am in the process of installing the wordpress theme and got stuck, when trying to save the template Trying that produced this error message:

2016-10-08%2013_13_38-Backlight.png

I have double checked the entered address to my blog - which is identical to the one where I can reach it. And the wp-content/themes directory does exist, I think otherwise the blog would not work at all.

Stuck here. Any advice?

Alfred

Re: Wordpress wp-content not found when saving template

did you put the full url to your blog in the WordPress URL field?
Links to your site always help and a screen shot of your WordPress URL setting would help too.

Re: Wordpress wp-content not found when saving template

Hi Alfred, can you confirm that backlight and wp-content exist on the same level, so that in your FTP you have these directories?

backlight/admin
wp-content/themes

What values do you have for Site URL and Wordpress URL?

Re: Wordpress wp-content not found when saving template

Ben, have sent you an email with more details and login credentials.

Backlight and Wordpress installation are in parallel directories (details in the email). That’s how it has developed historically, I wanted to keep website and blog separated as much as possible.

Re: Wordpress wp-content not found when saving template

Thanks Ben for your help - problem solved. All about pointing to the right location of the wp-content directory when it is in another location than expected.
