No download option

Every so often I loose my download option when adding photos to the cart. It's set to the right pricing scheme and digital download is part of the scheme. I don't get it, I've tried reuploading the template and changing it to a different theme and republishing but nothing seems to work.

Re: No download option

your template is configured to have Publisher create  image downloads for sale (as opposed to the regular image downloads)?

I noticed that your version of Gallery is pretty outdated as is your version of Publisher. First try downloading and installing the most recent versions.
for instructions on updating Publisher, see the changelog: http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … _changelog

Once this is done, if the problem persists at least we've eliminated one variable

Re: No download option

Rod,

Yes I want the image downloads for sale, helps me keep track of who is and isn't grabbing images from me.

I updated publisher and gallery then redid the gallery template, reuploaded it then republished the website. Still getting the same results.

Re: No download option

Probably Publisher related. Ben may need to see the logs

Re: No download option

Looking at your template settings (http://contrastimages.net/ttg-be/templa … /setup.xml)
there is on reference to photos-for-purchase.  Have you enabled these in your gallery settings when creating the template?

The setting can be found in Output Settings -> Publisher Setup -> Image Downloads for Sale

Re: No download option

Ben,

It wasn't checked, which I find odd since I've been using the same template for quite some time now and haven't seen any issues until maybe a month ago. However, I rechecked the box, reuploaded the template and republished it, cleared my cache, reset my browser and I'm still not getting the option to download a digital copy.

Re: No download option

try resetting the cart too.

Also, notice that your add-to-cart pop up is "missing" some text. This is because this box takes some of its styling from the image gallery, most notably, the text color. Yours is white so the text in the add-to-cart box is white text on a white background.

I rechecked the box, reuploaded the template and republished it

Just to confirm this means you republished all the images?
(Make sure that the "Push metadata...." box in Publisher set up is unchecked)

Re: No download option

Rod,

I didn't republish all the images, there are 700 so I was trying to avoid it. I'll go ahead and do it now, probably just delete the site and start from scratch uploading maybe 5 images to start. As far as the text goes I didn't notice that. I'll fix it later seeing as my gallery page background is black with white font. Primary concern at the moment is getting clients their pictures. Thank you for point it out though, I probably would have never noticed.

I'll check back after I've uploaded everything.

Re: No download option

have you looked in the photos-for-download/ folder to confirm that there are images in it?

I've been going back and forth comparing your settings to those in my test set up. And I'm not coming up with anything.

You should be seeing a dropdown under Products where you can choose between the Print product and Digital Downloads. It's acting like there is no Digital Download product.

Can you try creating a pricing scheme that has only Digital Download for a product and see if that works?

Re: No download option

The album that's working correctly is using a template name ImageDL, the one that's not is using a template named ImgDL.
Are there any significant differences between the two? Especially in the Ecommerce section of Output Settings?

Re: No download option

Technically the are the exact same templates. I actually created the ImgDL one because if this same issue before. Making a new template sorted it out last time but it isn't cooperating this time. Ill try and create an album using the old template and see what happens.

Re: No download option

I just did a test using the old Image Do template and it seems to work so i must be missing something on the newer template. Ill have to scrutinize and see exactly what it is. Ill post back what i find.

Thank you for all your help. It really means a lot to me that you take the time to troubleshoot my mistakes.
