limitation of how many pics client can select?

Is it possible to set a limitation of how many pics the client can select? For instant for many of my TFP shoots I limit the model to a maximum of 5 finished and fully edited photos per shoot. If it is possible to select a user-defined maximum of selected photos, that would be really neat. Maybe the feature is there, and I just didn't find it? :-)

no, it's not there as part of the plug-in. But it's a good suggestion smile

For the CE3 version of CRG though, Matt created a script that you could add via phplugins that would limit the selections. Since the CE4 version is pretty much a complete rebuild I don't know if it will work or not. But you could give it a try.

One consideration on the script is that it won't count selections over multiple pages correctly, so if you do run it, you'll want to make sure your entire album shows in one page.

Re: limitation of how many pics client can select?

Thanks for the advice and tips to both of you! I was going to look into this, and I actually thought "I am going to try to figure out this PHP stuff tonight!" - but.... if it only works on one page, I better skip it and wait for Matt to implement this idea as a feature in a future update :-) Usually my galleries would be way over 1 page :-)

It would be really smooth if one could just key in the "max. selected pics" in the Lightroom pane before creating and uploading the web :-) Let's hope that Matt see this and find this idea so awesome that he just has to implement it as standard :-)

I would be the one implementing it smile  Any setting would be in the CRG admin page at ttg-be/crg/admin, with a customisable message in the Localisations settings.

Ahaaaaa - then I just have to hope that you would implement it at some point then, Ben :-) :-) Well, it could probably work fine from the CRG admin page aswell, although if it would have been able to do from within LR that would have been even more comfy for us lazy photographers :-)

Re: limitation of how many pics client can select?

The CRG admin page is where the setup is managed.  In this case, the setting of maximum (or no maximum) could be tied to the feedback profile.  I don't want to make any promises on this feature and the timing, as I am quite overwhelmed with a long list of items to be added in the various products.  It's definitely a good idea.

I'm sure you could find a minute to venture over to the CRG settings for this smile

Re: limitation of how many pics client can select?

I am sure I could find those minutes aswell :-) I just have to get adjusted to that I actually need to go to a seperate module to "do stuff" :-) But I have to say that the client response module is really excellent - it takes more than 5 minutes to setup and adjust, but once you are up and running, it truly rocks and you wouldn't live a day without it :-) Keep up the good work!
