Spam prevention

I'm getting a consistent amount of spam.  I'm tired of it.  Been going on for months.

Is there an easy way to integrate a captcha, which we all hate?  Some are so hard, I give on a site.  I would like to implement an image based one using my images, but open to solutions that integrate easily on my site and doesn't look like either a Mensa or nursery school test.

Thanks,

Reid

Re: Spam prevention

try doing a forum search. Someone awhile back mentioned implementing the google recaptcha plugin on his CE4 contact page.

Re: Spam prevention

Getting spam where? The CE4 Pages contact form, or someplace else?

Re: Spam prevention

CE3 contact form.  I haven't upgraded to CE4 yet.  Does CE4 have some anti spam feature?

Can you refer me to a page to see the difference between CE3 and CE4.  Does CE4 offer responsive design that fills the screen like http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014 … v=top-news

Re: Spam prevention

for CE3 contact page I think you'd need to use the Pro version of Form To Email.
CE4 doesn't use Form To Email, it uses something Ben and Matt cooked up.

I didn't see a contact form on the page you linked to. But in CE4 the contact form lives in the Contact Page's sidebar. the contact form width looks like it's set to a maximum of 6/12 columns.
Everything TTG is responsive.
I've got a contact form on my test site here: http://ce4.barbeephoto.com/contact.php
I've set it to be 4/12 columns wide. You can resize to the browser to test responsiveness.
And of course, the CE4 User's Showcase has several sites you can look at

Re: Spam prevention

We haven't had any reported issues of spam using the CE4 Pages contact form.

For CE3, you will need to look to Form-to-Email for spam prevention measures. The relevant support area is here:
http://formtoemail.com/developersupport/

It's these sorts of issues that have prompted us to move away from using Form-to-Email in CE4, and to implement mail functions of our own.

CE4 Client Response Gallery will also be abandoning Form-to-Email when it releases later this year.

Re: Spam prevention

So far I haven't received any spam via the CE4 contact form. With CE3, I got several emails a day. Hopefully it will stay like that!
