file owners and permission requirements

Hello,

I continue to get very long error messages which I do not really understand, that however lead me to think, that some access permissions need to changed (e.g. for the sqlite database file.

Can somebody detail me exactly, what owners should all the ce4 files on the var/www tree have?
And also, can somebody detail me exactly, what permissions need to be set up for all files and folders in the ce4 tree?

Or maybe can point me to the documentation smile

Thank you.
Thomas

What are the error messages?
Whatever they are, these are possibly the cause of the error you've been seeing in Lightroom.

Re: file owners and permission requirements

Ok, thank you for your comments.

However, I decided to give up - it takes too much time and frustration to get this running as expected. Since I do not plan to have an enormous amount of galleries, I will use that standard copy method with CE-Gallery and leave alone publisher.

Thanks again

Re: file owners and permission requirements

That's an unfortunately decision, especially if you ever want to update your galleries when plugins are updated, etc. Publisher makes this process far, far easier than it would otherwise be.

Re: file owners and permission requirements

When errors and access problems crop up, the problem is often with hosting that doesn't comply with standards (as I think Ben mentioned in one of your other posts). Ben is very good at finding these problems and directing the user as to what to tell their hosting company so that the problem can be fixed.
Sometimes the answer is new hosting. Either way, the end result is that things work as they should.
But he needs information from you to do this.

if you ever want to use the Cart you'll likely run into similar SQLite errors so it might be best to get it all taken care of sooner rather than later.
