Problem with Gallery

I have a real problem.
In Lightroom everything looks perfect. I updated the plugins and changed the banner picture. Now I have a problem with the gallery. I tried so many things now for two days, tried to go back, no difference.
I have no idea what happened to my page. It looks instable, the Galleries are not working anymore.
Need help!
Thanks!

Re: Problem with Gallery

can you elaborate? The gallery looks perfectly fine to me. What do you mean by "instable"?
Perhaps try clearing cache, stopping and restarting browser, or using a different browser.

Re: Problem with Gallery

Hi Rod,

not on my computer. Please go to the deepest Level and press in each level several times refresh. I often do not see all Thumbnails, when I refresh, I am missing others, when refreshing again I get a corrupt Navigation container. I have the same problem on the iPad. Even deleting the cache and using another browser (firefox instead of Chrome) I get the same problem in the deepest gallery levels.
Seems to have to do with the Gallery, the AutoIndex and page seem to work better.

Re: Problem with Gallery

Try with a gallery template name without a 'space'. Maybe 'CE4-Gallery' instead of 'CE4 Gallery'.

I see the missing Thumbnails too.... and eventually all but one appeared. No idea about that.

Re: Problem with Gallery

I'm still not seeing a problem at all in Firefox. The pages can take a little time to load, but that could be because the image sizes are relatively large (350K or so)
You can try changing the jpg quality level to something lower and see if that helps.
I am seeing the thumbnails issue in Chrome.

But now I'm getting some unable to connect errors. then they go away.
What kind of hosting are you using? It seems inconsistent

Re: Problem with Gallery

It´s an Austrian hosting, up to now I had no problem with them. I also changed the jpeg compression from 80 to 60%, no difference.
With Firefox it looks better, but with several refreshes I get also problems.
If you have any idea what else to check, please tell me.

Re: Problem with Gallery

I am trying now since three days to get my gallery pages working, but no success!
Every time I am in the deepest level of the galleries I get corrupt results. Every refresh of the page gives me a different kind of corruption.
I am at the end, I don´t know what else to try?! I need to have my page online again by tomorrow!

Please, has anyone out there an idea?

Re: Problem with Gallery

Hi

Navigating in the site till Wien gallery I got once this message:

Warning: include_once(./../../ttg-be/publisher/application/config/config.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/.sites/500/site9562498/web/ttg-be/framework/init.php on line 30

Warning: include_once(): Failed opening './../../ttg-be/publisher/application/config/config.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /home/.sites/500/site9562498/web/ttg-be/framework/init.php on line 30

APP_NAME requires framework version REQUIRED_FRAMEWORK_VERSION, but the installed version is 2.0.1.

Upgrade the files in ttg-be/framework to the latest that were bundled with the APP_SHORT_NAME.

Afterwards can't I reach the site for a while. If this can help....

Using Firefox 31.0

Re: Problem with Gallery

Hi Fredy,

yes I have the same experience, it looks like to loose sometimes the connection, but we have another page also at this hoster without these problems. Thats why I think it has to do with this page. Whenever I do a site refresh I get different errors, how come.

Thanks anyway!
Greetings to Belgium.

So my standard procedure when changing somethin in the Lightroom web-site setup:
1.) exporting the page-gallery, the Gallery-template, the AutoIndex-template and the wordpress-template to the desktop.
2.) uploading the files of the pages-folder (except the gallery-folder) to the root of my homepage
3.) uploading the Gallery-template to ttg-be/templates/gallery/
4.) uploading the AutoIndex-template to ttg-be/templates/autoindex/
5.) uploading the Wordpress-template to wordpress/wp-content/themes/
6.) updating all Albums from within Lightroom

Nevertheless it looks like something with the php-path is wron because according to the error log some files can not be found.

Any idea what went wrong? Looks like something in my working order is wrong

Re: Problem with Gallery

Wolfram,
Your working order looks fine.

With the inconsistency I and others are experiencing with your site, this really sounds like a hosting issue. But I don't know enough about all this to tell for sure. My suggestion is to send a PM or email to Ben. You can find his contact info by clicking on User List at the top of the page and searching on "Ben".
He'll probably ask for FTP access to your site so he can get a closer look as to what's going on.

Re: Problem with Gallery

Hi Wolfram,  it looks like a hosting issue.  Your host is randomly failing to serve static files that exist on your server.  For example, on one page load your banner was missing.  The development tools of Chrome reported that the server refused the connection to serve the file http://www.art4u.photography/lib/images … yplate.png Yet if I open that URL in another tab, it loads.  This is a simple file that resides on a directory that is not impacted at all by any TTG code.

You need to raise these problems with your host.

Re: Problem with Gallery

Thanks Ben,
the reason why I didn´t think about this as issue is, that I have a second, private, page at the same host without problems at all.

Re: Problem with Gallery

According to Ben´s suggestion I got in touch with my host provider They increased the available RAM (memory_limit) to 128M which seems to be the max for my package.
The site works better now but still not perfect.
I am using this site for picture galleries and a blog.
So, how can I improve my situation (what uses most ram?), or do I have to change the hosting package?
Thanks for Your support!

Re: Problem with Gallery

I've looked in both Firefox and Chrome and it all seems to be working fine. I'm not seeing any of the previous issues.

The site and the pictures are pretty slow to load though. I looked at one image that was about 940px x 600px that was over 500Kb! That's rather big for an image that size. What jpg quality setting are you using (75 is about optimal for the web)

you say you changed hosting, but did you mean you stayed with the same host but switched to a more expensive plan? Or is it a new hosting company?

Re: Problem with Gallery

I think the issue with the size is the fact that my pictures originally are all 16 bit  adobe rgb files. When exporting them via publisher it converts them into 8 bit rgb files but it does not export them as srgb, they are still adobe rgb files, thats why they are double the size.
Is there a possibility to change the color space in the export configuration of the templates or the publisher?

Re: Problem with Gallery

8-bit is 8-bit, color space doesn't matter. And I believe that Publisher only exports sRGB, I know the web module does. In fact, the web module doesn't give you a choice

what jpg quality setting are you using.
