New and Need Some Direction

I purchased the CE2 and most modules, including the cart. I can't seem to find anything in them that allows me to display photos like the TTG HTML Gallery does. I want to have a very simple gallery, exactly like what TTG HTML Gallery does (which I also purchased) but I want to have the ability to use the shopping cart. The cart doesn't work with the TTG HTML Gallery and the CE2 suite doesn't seem to have the simple gallery that I need.

I need to be able to display thumbnails and then a single page with each photo.

It's probably in there somewhere simple, but I'm just not seeing it.

Thanks for any help.

Tommy

Re: New and Need Some Direction

Hi Tommy,
We have never updated the HTML Gallery to become a part of the "CE" series, so I'm afraid it's not an option for the cart.

Re: New and Need Some Direction

Is there anything in the CE2 that can display photos individually and allow captions, etc? Not the Highslide mode.

Re: New and Need Some Direction

Nope. In CE2 there's the lightbox style galleries (Highslide, Photoswipe) and Horizon (horizontal-scroll gallery). I've been very busy with the other plugins and there's been little demand for upkeep of the old HTML gallery, so it hasn't gotten any attention in a very long time.

Why is the Highslide gallery not acceptable for your needs?

Re: New and Need Some Direction

It may be. I'd have to look at it more. I want to be able to display a photo, with a description, lots of information about the photo. It seemed that the highslide gave only a smaller image than I'd like, and no ability to customize the page on which it displays. I'll try again and see what I can do.

Re: New and Need Some Direction

The image can be as large as you like. If it's too big to fit the display, then Highslide will scale it to fit.

As for information for each image, you can fill the caption from metadata. The HTML gallery operates in the same way insofar as sourcing such information.
