Two years ago I bought CE3 but for various reasons I did not have the chance to install it untill this winter when the support had expired. But I guess the CE4 installation is more or less the same
While running the cart installation, http://ce3wiki.theturninggate.net/doku. … stallation , I get the following error message:
Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '../framework/init.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lsws/lsphp56/share/pear/') in /hsphere/local/home/peterbq/nya.basebollfoto.se/cart/index.php on line 21

The CE4 Cart installation is much different than he CE3 Cart instalation.
See the CE4 docs http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … stallation

OK. My bad. Is there any hope of getting support for the CE3 cart installation? What do I get if I scrap CE3 and spend $235 on Backlight with cart and client galleries

Probably not much support for CE3 other than what some of us can remember about it.
Does your hosting comply to the TTG requirements?

With Backlight you get a much easier design experience, the most up to date code, and much better looking mobile pages.
Client Response feedback is stored in a database and you can custom configure feedback.
The cart is much the same but with feature and functionality improvements one would expect over CE3, which stopped being developed four years ago.
In addition, Backlight keeps improving and there is a lot of support. If you're using your site to sell images and work with clients, it makes sense (aesthetic and financial) to invest in up to date technology.

It sounds like not all of the files had been uploaded correctly. Can you try re-uploading the files under cart/? What FTP program are you using?
