Wordpress "more"-Tag

Hi.

I have a question. When I put the "more"-Tag in my posts they do not show up. If I leave them away there is the "[...]" tag, but I can not control at which position I want to have it in my text.

First why can't I use the tag coming with wordpress and second if I can not use it can I control the position of the "[...]" tag?

If you disable "Excerpts on blog" in the Customizer, then the "more" tag should work as you expect it to.

Re: Wordpress "more"-Tag

Hi Rod.

Thanks for the link. But then I think I can not use the "featured image".

Isn't it possible that we can use the "more"-tag where we want to?

Re: Wordpress "more"-Tag

If you  disable the "Excerpts on blog" option you won't need a featured image. If you have an image at the top of your post, it will be the one to show.
I've temporarily changed my test site's blog to not use excerpts. And I've placed a "more" tag wherever I wanted it:

Re: Wordpress "more"-Tag

Hi Rod.

Ah, ok, thank you. I tried it and it works.

Nevertheless, I would prefer a mix of both, because I also like the line between the posts... :-)

Re: Wordpress "more"-Tag

Custom css can do this. Maybe something like this:

.blog article {
    border-bottom: 1px solid black;
    margin-bottom: 20px !important;
}
