2 When I view the web site on my Iphone and Samsung Note 8 tablet, I do not have any links showing to to leave the home page?

Slide show is not supported yet

You can insert images into text blocks using html, just like in CE4.
You have a couple of options for getting the images to the site. The simple way is to add a folder to the server for images. I have one in the root of my test site named img/ just for this purpose.
You can also use the Backlight image upload feature to upload images. Then go to the Uploaded Images page and grab the url.

For the menu, in your page template, go to Navigation, Trays and set up mobile navigation there. Set Display to On Mobile.

Yes, that's the option for a strict one-column layout without trays of any kind. It doesn't have much utility at the moment, but will later on. Among other things I'd like to do is add support to keep the header navigation in some format in the mobile view for people who prefer it; I don't like it that way, but some might.

For now, make sure you have trays available for the mobile view.
