Can't update this collection...

I updated (added a photo) this page: http://www.antonjstetner.com/galleries/ … snowbirds/

Everything seems to work but just as the task is completing, LR says:"Can't update this collection" followed by:

An internal error has occurred: JSON.lua:458: JSON.lua:197: can't parse JSON at char 1 of: Update query failed with error: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1 no such column: top_level_gallery_path
sql:
'UPDATE `album` SET
`id`=\'59557\',.........

I have updated the publisher directory and the plugin manager says version 2.3...

Any thoughts?

Re: Can't update this collection...

I'm seeing the same thing. I've already emailed Ben about it.

Do you happen to have CE4 CRG as well? I've noticed that I don't get that error when creating or updating a CRG album.

Re: Can't update this collection...

Rod I'm getting the same error also, and I DO NOT have CRG. My setup is a basic site from Pages with additions from Stage. Not using Cart on this site although I do have that installed.

Re: Can't update this collection...

Are your albums still being published and/or updated as you expect? Other than this error, there doesn't really seem to be anything functionally wrong.

Re: Can't update this collection...

Rod, it does appear that updates are being made. I added a photo and later deleted that photo as a test, and it went as expected. Only problem appears to be that error dialog each time.

Re: Can't update this collection...

From the tests I've done, it looks like Ben probably has a fix for it.

Re: Can't update this collection...

I am having the same issue after the update. In addition, I notice the following issues as well:

1. The "watermark to apply" options in both the album setup as well as in the Publish settings seem to be ignored i.e. no watermarks are being applied on the images.
2. The custom order specified in Lightroom is being ignored even though I have the setting as "Managed by Lightroom" in the album setup.
3. Cover image set as "Random" for an album set does not show any image.

Thanks,
Satish

Kind regards,
Satish

Re: Can't update this collection...

I've put in a hotfix, in the file CE4-Publisher-230a.zip.  To solve this error, the only file that needs updating is:

ttg-be/publisher/application/dao/AlbumDAO.php

Satish, can you give that a go?  This may solve your other problems.  Let us know how you go.

Re: Can't update this collection...

Hi Ben, thanks. Just tried the fix, the original SQL error no longer occurs, the custom order works as well, but the other two issues still seem to be there.

Re: Can't update this collection...

I'm not able to repeat the problems.
Watermarks are being applied where I specify (including large images and thumbnails) and custom ordering is working. Well sort of.

I can set an order in Lightroom (like aspect ratio or edit time) and republish. Upon refreshing the web page I don't see the change in order. What needs to be done is to move just one image in Publisher, mark to republish, and hit Publish. The images will be reordered on the web page. Then move that one image back to where you actually want it, mark to republish, and Publish.

The image ordering seems to be the way it's always been when using the Managed by Lightroom sort option; I've always had to manually move just one image and republish before the sort order changed on the web page.

Re: Can't update this collection...

yes, the custom order always worked the way you describe it - when I first add an image to an album and publish, it goes to the end. I had to drag it to a new position, and mark for republishing and then publish - and all would be well.

re the watermark - the problem still exists. are you using lightroom 6? i just did a search and am seeing some similar issues being reported with LR6.

Re: Can't update this collection...

ok, i can confirm this is an LR6 issue - happens only with watermarks that are graphic, text watermarks are working fine.

Re: Can't update this collection...

I'm using LR 6/CC and it's working fine with my graphic watermark (a png). I'm getting watermarks on thumbnails, large images, and downloaded images (both regular download and cart renditions)

Re: Can't update this collection...

Rod,
interesting twist in this issue.

I updated publisher to 230a, and tested it, and all was fine.  Testing was done by adding & deleting photos to an existing gallery.  I, then modified some settings in my Gallery template, updated all the the galleries from the admin page to use the new template.

I then made a change in a photos in one of the galleries and the problem returned.
I re deployed publisher 230a, and the problem went away again.

Re: Can't update this collection...

updated all the the galleries from the admin page to use the new template

I've never had to do that after just updating a template
