Record search terms

Is it, or would it be possible in the future, to record search's.  I'm just thinking it would be useful to see (1)  How much search is used and (2) see what the are the most used search terms on my site..  as that would help with future keywording..

just a thought

Regards

Re: Record search terms

You can use Google Analytics to keep track of the search queries. I have a blog entry that shows how it works with GallerySearch for CE3; this works as well with search in CE4: http://danielleu.com/blog/2014/03/googl … erysearch/

Re: Record search terms

Excellent post, smile I really appreciate you sharing it.

I must admit I have no idea about what the query parameter means, but as per your post I've entered a q.. and checked the strip query parameters box.

looking forward to seeing the results.

Many thanks

Richard

Re: Record search terms

Thank you, Richard!

In case you are curious, wikipedia has an entry about the query parameter or query string  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Query_string. For short this is the way to tell the TTG backend what you are looking for.

Btw, found an error on some of your galleries.... http://www.pretty-flash-photography.co. … eddies_48/

Re: Record search terms

Oops

The motocross galleries only have a short shelf life, and it looks as though I have some cleaning-up to do.. hmm

On a plus note, I can report that the Google Analytic's search tracking is working and shows a great deal of helpful information smile

thanks again

Richard

Re: Record search terms

Found the error in the galleries while checking out your search. Cool that the Google Analytics tracking works!
