I opened my email this morning and see that CE3 Stage Edition is out. I do not have the previous version and have a question. Would this be what I use in my galleries to display my samples in galleries as a slideshow?

Stage can create a Galleria html slide show if that's what you're asking. It can also create a full-page flip gallery, just like in Pages.
It no longer supports flash slideshows, but you can always use PHPlugins to insert those if needed.
