#2 Backlight 2 Support » Publishing Keywords » 2020-02-16 23:50:16

I've added the string {IfExportedKeyword} to the Caption section of the Photo Presentation section of Album Settings but my LR keywords are not showing up when I click on a picture in the album and go to a single picture. The field already had {Caption} in it, still does, and the captions are showing. Have I chosen the wrong Token or put it in the wrong place?

I find that the descriptive text under the albums frequently exceeds the width allowed and shows part of the name followed by "...".  Is it possible to set this up so that the sentence wraps to a second line?

Thanks.  I had done that but forgot you had to log out of Backlight to get it to show properly.

I created a sub menu under my Galleries menu that I'll be putting archived football albums under.  How do I make it so that the Football Gallery Set doesn't show on the Gallery page or on the Home Page?  I had it working under my prior version but lost that when my Internet provider upgraded my service before I could back up what I had.  I can't remember the setting.

I continue to have this problem.

Ben, I sent you my most recent log file.  If you wouldn't mind, could you take a look.

#8 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Issues with Albums » 2020-01-29 23:55:20

It happens every time I edit an album.

Ben had been helping me and has those privileges though he probably needs new logs.

#9 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Issues with Albums » 2020-01-29 23:26:31

I posted a new album and was able to delete it off the web site using Lightroom so that problem has resolved.

However, I still get a second album whenever I edit  the existing one with only the changed item posted. Any idea why this is happening?  The change does not show in the original album.

#10 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Issues with Albums » 2020-01-28 23:41:09

Thanks.  That took care of the immediate problem.  I'll see if the issue duplicates itself tonight when I edit the remaining album.

#11 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Issues with Albums » 2020-01-28 23:03:46

The plugins are up to date.

Not sure how to delete the duplicate albums from Backlight.

I'm having an issue with my albums in that I can't delete them and when I edit them it creates a second album.

I can delete them in Lightroom but get the error message "The collection could not be deleted from the service" and the album remains on the Galleries page.

When I edit an existing album, it shows as a single album in Lightroom but there are multiple albums on my web site with the same name with only the change that I made showing in the album.

The only album showing in Lightroom is "20191214 Basketball Norcross Tucker" yet there are 7 albums showing on my Galleries page.

Any ideas?

Thanks to Ben's help I got this issue resolved.  I'm having another but that's for another post smile.

#14 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Installing Backlight » 2020-01-24 23:02:23

There aren't any templates listed in he dropdown box in LR under the new installation.

Ben, I sent you the log and admin credentials.

#15 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Installing Backlight » 2020-01-24 21:06:27

It was  not the current version.  I've updated it but get the same error message when I try top create a new Album in the new publish service.

If I try to republish the old service I get this error message.

Unable to perform action: getSetupForTemplate

Message: The album could not be found for id 16842.  Please edit this album and try again.

I've emailed Ben the log file he requested and will get him an admin login when I get to work later this morning.  I'll email Ben with it.

#16 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Installing Backlight » 2020-01-23 23:08:18

It should be.  I went to the Modules online and downloaded it this week, deleted the older version and installed this one.  I'll give it another try when I get home tonight to make sure.

#17 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Installing Backlight » 2020-01-23 21:33:28

I created a new publishing service and get a new error message when I try to create a new Album.

Error Performing Function

Unable to complete the action

Headers: {  [error]=> {  [errorcode]

=> "badurl"  }

}

The API URL in Lightroom is set to  http://norcrosspics.com/backlight/publisher/

I didn't have time to locate the files this morning but will do so tonight.

#18 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Installing Backlight » 2020-01-23 07:07:48

I'll look when I get home but I believe that is what it is set to.

#20 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Installing Backlight » 2020-01-23 01:00:10

I'll give that a try.  I was hoping I could simply delete out the old install and plug-in the new one.

#21 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Installing Backlight » 2020-01-23 00:53:58

Because the web site was deleted, some of the steps are not valid.  Frankly, because of the deletion of my existing files I viewed this as a new install rather than an upgrade.

There were no files in /backlight folder.

I followed the installation steps and have the web page up and running.  I just can't add any galleries.  Norcrosspics.com.

I visited the  Admin, Publisher and Designer menu items in order to upgrade the databases.

All of my modules are current with the exception of Cart, which I have not installed yet.

I have updated the Album files.  I also updated the Index files.

Frankly, because of the deletion of my existing files I viewed this as a new install rather than an upgrade.

I'm a long time user of the TTG products and had a prior version of Backlight installed when I updated my plan with GoDaddy and lost everything on their site.

I am now using Backlight 2 and have the most current versions on my web site and in Lightroom.

Lightroom showed the prior published galleries and wouldn't let me republish them (this was expected) so I uninstalled the plug-in which caused the old galleries in Lightroom to be deleted.  However, when I installed the newest version of the plug-in, the galleries reappeared.  The plug-in won't let me republish these galleries or create new ones.  When I try to create new ones if get the error message below.

I'm guessing I need to delete a reference to the old galleries/web page but I'm not sure of what to do.  Any help would be appreciated.

Bob

Got the basics going.  Turns out that the write properties were not set properly.  I wasn't doing it right in Filezilla.

#24 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Installing Backlight 2 - Godaddy » 2019-08-12 23:54:53

Thanks Rod.  I have the correct PHP version but will check with them on the others.

#25 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Installing Backlight 2 - Godaddy » 2019-08-12 23:28:32

All right.  I finally got some time to spend with this.  Evidently I'm on an old server due to the time I've been with Godaddy and am running Linux and not cPanel.  Does this matter.  Should I upgrade to cPanel?
