Awesome! Is there any place on planet earth you haven't been?

Love that short-wide slideshow. Very effective.

I suppose if Google, big as it is, is using SSL as a ranking indicator the rest of the market will tag along eventually.

There seems to be a rising wave everywhere I look that converting sites to the more secure https:// from http:// will be a necessity in the very near future. Whereas this would dramatically increase what I spend for hosting I've been dragging my feet on doing so. Since the members of this forum are a pretty savvy bunch I'd really like to hear what all of you have to say on the topic. Will it be necessary, inevitable, unavoidable? Should I do it now or wait and see what shakes loose in the coming months? I know some of you have made this transition already. Was it easy, difficult, painful, a nightmare, or what?
Regards Mark
Hey Daniel, that's an inspired approach. I'm assimilating your method into my collective experience of the world.

(resistance is futile)
The photos in LR are probably the easy part. In LR select all your brother's photos and click file> export as catalog. You could put that exported catalog folder on your desktop. It will contain the .lrcat file a folder or folders of the pictures and a previews lrdata file if you use previews. It could be a big folder depending on number of pictures. Then copy the exported catalog folder from your desktop to brother's PC. There he would start LR and import the catalog directing the imported images to wherever they need to go. As for published albums and publisher instances, I think you'll have to recreate those.

Thanks. That did the trick. The cart is behaving nicely after a complete rebuild.

You might consider looking at Jeffrey Friedl's Lightroom plugin called Metadata Wrangler. It's at: http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies

How does one remove any and all data stored in the cart settings to start over from scratch? A completely blank slate, so to speak?
Markh
Stranger still. I don't have digital DL in any of my pricing schemes.

Curiouser and curioser. I've used the TTG cart for as long as it has been available. It has been modified, chopped, diced, sauteed, and dropped in a blender more times than I can count. It comes as no surprise that I've probably mangled it. This begs the question: how would I go about deleting the cart and everything associated with it so I can start from scratch? Is this a database thing?
Mark
Further investigation seems to suggest this is a browser-specific issue. Chrome, Firefox, and edge work OK. Vivaldi does not. FWIW.

Just was informed of this odd behavior in the cart. From thumbnail view when I add an item to the cart the cart opens and the item is there. If I change the item to, say, a different size, the description, price etc. do not update.

Try adding the top left image to the cart. and then changing the item to a different size print in the drop-down box.
Regards Mark
I have no trouble adding the print to the cart. Even added 2 of them just to be sure. Nice image, by the way.

Sorry guys, you didn't see the code anymore because it's not there. I'm going at this from a different direction. Site is changing by the minute. Always more than one way to skin a cat (what kind of a saying is that? really! who skins cats? that's just creepy).
All well and good but everyone's missing the point. This was never meant to be a discussion on the philosophy of web design. I was merely pointing out that a wonderful part of TTG products, namely phpplugins, which I've used over the years for all sorts of cool stuff, in this case does not work. It struck me as odd that phpplugins worked fine with this bit of code right up until the pangolin improvements when it abruptly stopped working. Seemed like there might be something amiss with the hooks in pangolin since that's when the problem started. Just sayin'.
Point taken.
Daniel the code I'm using checks for the existence of later generation flash if it doesn't find it it falls through to HTML5. Trying to cover all the bases as far as user's systems go. Thanks for the link will take a look.
Having a player widget prominently placed on screen allows users to stop the music with a single click. A necessity as some folks hate music. The subject seems to be a bit like anchovies on pizza: love/hate, with no middle ground at all.
Regards Mark
Before everyone goes all sling-blade on me about how music is taboo on a website, know this: of the folks who leave comments on my sites those in favor of music in photo albums outnumber those opposed by about 2 to 1. That being said, here's the problem. I have a small bit of code that inserts a music controller on a page wherever I put the code. Before the Pangolin updates this code worked flawlessly. An example of the player in the left pallet on an Okapi template is here: http://photophart.com/gallery/sometimes-you-get-wet/
In a pangolin based gallery template that exact same player kills the display of the images in the gallery such as here: http://photophart.com/gallery/g-train/
I have tried putting the code for the player in various places using both phpplugins and code in content areas. In all cases I can make the player appear where I want and it works fine but any albums on the page with the player disappear although space for them on the page is reserved as evidenced by the length of the page. The phpplugins locations I've tried are ttg_album_top, ttg_album_bottom. Code in content areas I've tried are done from within LR in both page-content>page-copy and page-content>tray-one-copy. I've cleared template cache and browser cache repeatedly and republished all the images several times.
I'm not keen on giving up an album feature that my site visitors seem to like and can continue to use Okapi templates for that, but, I really like the look of the new pangolin justified albums and am motivated to use them on the site.

Cool!
Contents of file have been replaced and FTPd to site.
what should sharing be set to on that file?
File is at the root of the site. Same level as backlight. Not reachable?
Interestingly with reCaptcha enabled on the contact, when I check "I am not a robot" it moves to the next level of verification where I must click on various pictures that meet certain criteria. After I do that I get the red error that tells me I've not clicked the I am not a robot checkbox.
Done.
Should I have reCaptcha enabled on the contact form?
Cuz right now I don't.
