Thank you Ben I'm due to renew soon. I'll change that. You had some recommendations. I can go search, but if you could reply it will save me time. I'm going to stop the autorenew now.
Rod,
I had my provider help me get a php.ini file in place in my cgi-bin directory.
They contents the provided were
memory_limit = 128M
output_buffering = 2048
I added to it so it is now:
memory_limit = 128M
output_buffering = 2048
upload_max_filesize=64M
I also worked with Comcast again, finally got a tech who did something helpful, but couldn't understand the accent. It was either enabled the breach or bridge on my linksys router hooked to my Comcast modem. I was able to publish and additional 9 photos before I got the same failure. Any recommendations to add/change in the php.ini file? At least I'm moving in a positive direction.
Ross
Are you getting the same error? If not, can you post it?
The error is the same.What have you done so far to try to solve this? Have you tried increasing upload limits in the php.ini file?
Would you post an example of php.ini? My server doesn't appear to have one, I'm looking at the root of backlight subdir. Would it be someplace else, perhap the root of rossdickinson.com?
I first removed the Album from the TTG-Publisher-Events, where I upload photos of events I photograph and share. My first course of action was to remove that instance and recreate it. Then I marked one photo in the link to the Teton day I had added successfully on January 6. The first try to republish got the exact same error. I then rebooted my Xfinity modem yet again. I tried republishing the Teton day again, this time it was successful. I must say that publish of the photoshoot has uploaded two or three photos, then subsequent tries my add another one or two. I even disable Norton firewall and virus scanning and tried...no help.
I even went through to process of removing and re-adding Backlight 1.1.1 in the order outlined. Good instructions BTW.
Another suspicion, just before I started having this problem, Windows update happened forcing a reboot. During the time coming back up there was DOS activity showing on the screen, sorry no clear memory.

Long ago early in my IT career. I had to support a global network, where the higher ups tried to run SAP, Microsoft Mail, over frame relay with 56k guarantee, but the "bursts" were supposed to cover things. To make matters worse the purchased bridges, not routers. Talk about a mess.
I'm wondering what type of equipment Xfinity is running. Sorry for digression
Network Solutions is my web host provider.
Thank you again Rod. I just had a brisk eBay evening, selling my late wife's QVC Collections. Sleep will give me fresh perspective. I'll think of more things to try and will be happy to test a php.ini file.

I'm having the same issue but haven't had the time to focus on it very much. I am thinking it might be a band width issue for me. A tracert to rossdickinson.com times out on some of the hops. I upgraded my Comcast Internet to a faster speed, but haven't seen much improvement. I get between 48 and 58 mbps on downloads and 11-12 mbps on uploads. I even reinstalled 1.1.1. I was last successful on build a web page on 1/6/17 when put out one more day of my photos in the Tetons in 2012. http://rossdickinson.com/1TestSite/trav … y18th2012/
I'm very busy with eBay and doing an estate sale of my wife's extensive QVC collections but need to get this working again. Glad to find this thread.
I was lucky, I did a search for the error and the solution fixed my problem as well. Thank you.
Thank you Daniel. I look forward to the rebuild of my site, with all the distractions and sastifactions.
Ok I think I understand now. I'll create a subdirectory in my htdocs folder called test. Then move the appropriate directories and files to /test. I will probably wait a week before I start, I lost my wife two months ago and am taking half her cremains to her home state of Ohio for a memorial and burial there. Photography and web stuff have been a long time hobby for me and will be comforting. Thank you Ben and Dan for this initial guidance. You'll be seeing my posts increasing and I get started on the "backlight adventure"!
Best Regards,
Ross
Ben,
Thank you for your response, which leads me to ask another question. When I copy the files to my server it includes index.php which is in the root directory of my current CE3 site. Will my current website still be available to the public while I'm building /backlight?
Thanks,
Ross
I'm planning on upgrading my CE3 site to Backlight. I have the luxury of having a Synology DS412+, which runs a web server, php and has a copy of my site, http://rossdickinson.com on it. I've used it a little for testing in the past. What I'm thinking of doing is using the Synology NAS as a development site for Backlight. I would be able to rebuild the current CE3 by copying and pasting the necessary elements into Backlight on the NAS, Once I'm satisfied I could then overwrite the current rossdickinson.com site with the new Backlight version. I fear the GOTCHAS that usually happen. I'll get my WD Red 4TB NAS Hard Disk in tomorrow, the NAS is running in a degraded state since running disk scrubbing on it. To many errors on disk 2, so I ordered a replacment. Once the NAS rebuilds itself, I'd like to proceed with my plans.
Anybody have any input?
Thank you in advance,
Ross Dickinson
