In general, my suggested strategy to clean this up:
1. If possible within LR, do so (e.g. if an empty album is there that you want to remove, do it there)
2. If that's not possible, do so in the Publisher section of Backlight admin. The only restriction is that you can't move LR-created albums within the the Backlight admin. You can delete Albums and Album Sets in the Backlight admin regardless of whether they were created in LR or Backlight admin. As above, if the latter then try deleting in LR first.
The 2015-2016 albums are spread out over two sets. I need to get the part 2 albums into the part 1 set. Can't just delete one of them.
I found it. The order does not change. I tried creation date and creation date descending. I also tried slug and title. No effect any place.
Have you tried changing whatever the default order setting is?
I would if I could find such a place.
You are up pretty early in the morning!!!
This migration is fouled up in so many ways it is hard to put them all down.
Example 1:
on the site: 2018/2019 Events displays 2015-2016 twice, 2016-2017, 2017-2018(no image), 2018-2019 (no image) and album September 2015 (no image)
In Backlight: When I go to edit page 2018/2019 Events the 2018-2019 album set is not in the list of available sets to bind to. The options are:
Galleries (where did that come from?) See below.
Two versions of 2015-2016 (you see them on the site as two pieces - more on that later
2016-2017 - this one is good
2017-2018 - this one is also good
The Album set to insert called Galleries contains all of the above sets plus one labeled September 2015 which is empty.
Example 2:
On the site 2015/2016 Events used the first version shown in BL and is a total mess including 6 copies of album 2015 October (only the first one is complete) and two of September 2013, one which actually has two albums from 2015 and the other is empty. It's like a bomb his this set and threw pieces all over the place.
In Backlight there is no way to sort all of this out that I can find.
I am thinking of uploading the complete backup of the original CE4/CE3 site to another folder on the server and try this again Or perhaps Ben does it so he can see any errors that arise). Any thoughts on this?
you can order things by title, slug, etc. Ascending or descending. Dragging sets won't do it.
For example: give a set a slug that starts with a date, like 1809 (sept 2018). Sort by slug descending. 1809... will appear before 1805 (May 2018)
I had a numbering system in CE4 and CE3 that displayed the sets so the newest one was always at the top left in the autoindex page and the albums were in monthly order within each set. This system was ignored by the migration so the albums are all over the place. These numbers were in the titles starting in 2010.

Edit the album set either in LR or Backlight and change the privacy to 'Public' under Features.
OK. That worked and that set is complete except for the captions.
I went into editing the sets but could not find a way to reorder the albums according to month, starting with September and ending with May in each set. Dragging produces nothing.
3. As an example, I can see that there is a caption in the database for this photo. http://lesmarmitonsnj.com/galleries/03_ … single.php
I’ll look further into it
I don't see a caption and that image is in a template that I never created.
Looking at this one at a time.
1. The menu entry is incorrect and points to 2006/2007 menus. There is a page at http://lesmarmitonsnj.com/galleries/028_2018-events/ but it has an Access Code so I can’t see whether it shows what it’s meant to.
I have absolutely no idea how this particular set got an access code and what that code might be. Another strange part of this migration.
How do I dig in to it? Or just delete it?
Yes, all the albums were in yearly dated sets starting in 2015/2016. There were no "loose" albums. The earlier sets covering 2010/2011 through 2014/2015 were CE3 sets that failed to convert to CE4 when I tried in 2015. It appears that one or two of those albums actually converted this time but I haven't had a chance to investigate what is in them, if anything.
This has been another strange experience with these programs.
1. There is no set for 2018/2019. It should contain 7 or 8 albums from September 2018 to April 2019.
2. There are two sets for 2015/2016 containing parts of the albums for that year. Part 1 is a jumble of albums from all over the place. I created menu slots for both parts.
3. Every photo in every album has a caption. I turned captions on in the template but they are not displaying.
How do I reorder the sets and albums according to date?
There is probably more to come but this should give you an idea about how this migration is mixed up.
Looks very good. I will work on the templates tomorrow. I see many of the albums are missing. Will there be a way to get them? Can I expect to recover the captions?
Thank you Ben.
I changed you to administrator and Updates Album files. The Events still have an error. None of the CE4 sets and albums are correct.
I sent you one, check your email
I reinstalled backlight and that seems to have solved the nav bar problem but LR still throws the 418 Code and will not upload a set or album. See the error message at Our Events>2017/2018 Events
Yes. I did that and I used it to create a few test sets and albums that worked fine. I deleted them from the test site before I migrated. Now in LR I get a Code 418 error when uploading an album.
I installed everything I got last Monday when I bought the bundle
I checked my downloads folder and it is there. I installed the plugin in LRCC, but not since I migrated the site. Could this be the problem?
Well, the site ran before I migrated and now it is not showing the nav bar
I migrated CE4 Albums and got this:

Yes, i did. It is working now so I guess it took a while to propagate.
I did everything I found and migrated my http://corvette-photography.com/TestBL2 site to the main site. http://lesmarmitonsnj.com. I guess I missed something.
If you recall, my site is a hybrid of CE3 and CE4 sets and albums. I failed in the past to convert the old ones to CE4. Do you think this CE4 to BL conversion with have any effect on the CE3's?
It's been an intense week but i am about ready to move the test site over to the main area and have a few management questions.
How do I delete test albums and album sets? Through LR>Publisher?
When I convert the CE4 sets can I do them one at a time or are they done all at once?
Do I need to set up any pages ahead of time for the converted sets or is that taken care of automatically.
I have one set that is not finished yet. How do I publish the new album to a converted set using LR? I assume Publisher will not have the appropriate set.
There a few housekeeping items to still touch on the test bed but nothing killer.
It's always the simple things that jump up and bite you in the butt.
Thanks
You have better eyes than I. Now I just get "unable to find publisher". I know that the publisher folder is a virtual one but is there anything i should have put on the server from the publisher download I got in Monday? Other than the .htaccess file?
