Ok, I must have done it wrong the first time, just setup the phplugins site wide navigation and it works
thanks
Brad
In a standalone CE4 site you can modify the phplugins.php file and enable site wide navigation, works very nice.
In a Wordpress managed home page with a CE4 gallery you can have WP manage the naviagation menu links, works very nice
But what is the best way in a site that has CE4 page/stage as the home page and has a sub directory blog with wordpress.
Main site www.inmylens.com is public_html
Blog public_html/blog or blog.inmylens.com, blue host was not able to get www.inmylens.com/blog to load the blog correctly.
rod,
it is still working fine so it must have been a cache issues, sorry Brad
It is all of a sudden working, ugh, not sure why, will keep you posted
Brad
So that was an interesting test, when I switched to multi level, the menu alignment changed to left, so I changed back to right, saved, exported, uploaded theme and same issue.
did a bunch of local testing then decided to take one of the WP templates that came with TTG.
Selected CEF Theme for Wordpress - Bookish, made one change Site Info > Navigation Items > Alignment: Right
Saved as new template
Refreshed screen and in LR the menu text is right aligned.
Exported this WP theme
Opened lib\css\navigation.css
went to line 199 and it is float: left
Ugh, I am sure I am doing something silly/wrong but have no idea what.
Let me know your thoughts
Brad
Hello,
Yes, I know about the site info navigation alignment, that is how i built the site and worked great. Until I setup wordpress per http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … =ce4_102&s[]=wordpress
In Step 7 of this process you "Imbue your Menu with the POWER of magic" by adding code to your phpplugin.php file. This then allows the wordpress menu to control all the menu items so wordpress and TTG are in sync, which is very cool.
But after doing this step everything became left justified instead of right.
So I was wondering how to best correct for this.
The reason I keep asking, probably looks like I am not listening, is I am coming from a world of wordpress where my templates had custom.css files that you could make small changes in that would override the themes base css files.
Also I am still learning all the changes you can make in the web templates which is amazing.
Let me know and thanks for the help
Brad
Hello,
http://beta.inmylens.com/
I have my wordpress as my home page and TTG as gallery. Also setup the menu to be controlled by wordpress so they are in sync, very nice.
However the wordpress menu is not left justified instead of right justified.
I see this is in the wordpress css and want to know the correct way to make the change:
.main-navigation div {
float: right;
}
Is there a custom wordpress css page I should add this to? I know I have asked other css questions but am confused where to add this code.
thanks
Brad
Perfect, thank you Matthew, good to know my math works, I will double my icons from 300px to 600px with a lower image quality.
Thanks again
Brad
Oh man that is cool, missed that setting, thank you, perfect.
I am now setting up my wordpress TTG and would like to have the main body width at 75% width and the right column width at 25%. I can see from Google Chrome, inspect element, this is in the scaffolding.min.css file. Is it best to change the percentages there or is there a custom css place I should make this change, or can I select a different container / grid?

Thank you
Brad
Hello,
I realize there are numerous posts on it is best to use custom icons when using the Iconic autoindex but I have not seen what the recommended icon size for these icons.
http://photography.inmylens.com/galleries/birds/
I have selected 4 columns, aspect ratio of 5:4 with spacing at 20
On my desktop, google chrome, When I am full screen the icons are 263x210, perfect size
But as I make my browser narrower the columns go from 4 down to 1, makes sense
But each time the icon gets bigger
By the time they are one column wide the icon is 591 x516 (at it max size, which is when the columns just switch from 2 to 1)
Does this mean to have high quality icons I should be creating my custom icons at 600 x 480?
Seems kind of big.
Thanks
Brad
Thank you Matthew.
I am looking into the wordpress theme as I type ;-), a lot more silly question to come.
So here is my first one, if I have TTG Galleries and TTG wordpress is there an integrated search that will show both blog and gallery results? Or do you have to embed a google search somehow?
Thanks again for all the help
Brad
So I must be doing something wrong do I need to add that text in the image info control pane also?
As a test I added by initials to the end of the string in the output window and then republished but does not appear.
{Caption} - ISO {ISO} - {ShutterSpeed} at {Aperture} BRL
Brad
ok thanks, it is just so nice being able to manage the galleries outside of WP with TTG.
OK thanks Rod,
So i have updated the output settings to
{Caption} - ISO {ISO} - {ShutterSpeed} at {Aperture}
But am still getting the same results, hmmm

Brad
I am worried I am way over my head so maybe there is someone for hire with my final TTG task, embedding galleries in WP blog posts. So for the last month I have been getting up to speed on TTG and the more I use it, the more I learn, the more I love this application. I am still amazed at how fast the galleries load. http://photography.inmylens.com
I would like to have specific galleries, that I create in TTG/LR and publish, that I can embed into WP blog posts. This could even be a different TTG setup/install in a different directory so all these galleries would only be for blogs and therefore have the headers/footers removed per the TTG documentation.
Yes I have read the documentation and just get lost, I have very little web development knowledge.
http://theturninggate.net/2012/04/ifram … -are-good/
So, not using iframes, is there a get your galleries into a wordpress blog post for dummies ;-)
Or is there anyone looking to make a few extra dollars that could help me get this setup?
Thanks
Brad
Ok thanks Daniel, it was just odd all the other tags seemed correct and LR was displaying correctly. I did add as you recommended before and then in LR it has ISO twice, guess I just won't worry about it.
thanks again
Brad
Hello,
I have setup my image viewer to include metadata in the title and caption.
http://photography.inmylens.com/galleri … single.php
On the caption, second line, my output is {Caption} - {ISO} {ShutterSpeed} at {Aperture}
My image info Labels>Caption is "Caption - ISO Speed Rating - Exposure"
When i view this in LR everything looks great, notice the "ISO" in front of the 360
http://photgraphy.inmylens.com/photos/iso.png
But on the web site it drops the text "ISO" so all you see is 360, it is also missing the space -
Thanks again
I am pretty excited things are almost there with my gallery
Brad
The /favicon.ico work great. Thank you.
The difference in the 2 galleries was also the text hyperlink colors. After trying numerous ways i finally started with a previous page template and now everything is fine. Thanks Again.
Brad
Thanks everyone
Brad
Hello,
Let me just say sorry for the silly question right up front ;-), but I am confused on shared resources.
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … _resources
I would like to have a nice search box on the bottom each or some pages. I saw in another post it can be at the top or bottom of the content, I was hoping for the footer but close enough.
So I go into my page template and under output select get "shared resources..." , I then get a grey ! in the upper right corner.
So what do i do next? How do I choose what resources get shared or where they show up?
Thanks Again Brad
Ok thanks Rod.
As far as the using an absolute URL doe that have to be http://photography.inmylens.com/favicon.ico or can I just use /favicon.ico
Just wondering what the most efficient way is for the server processing the code.
As always thank you for the quick response
Brad
Hello,
I have multiple autoindex templates, I understand how to choose/change them when i have a Album set but how do i change the first auto index template that I used when I first created my site with pages, galleries, auto index, publisher. In lightroom under publisher I have AlbumSet1 and Album(original) and it is the original album that is still using the older auto index template. After reading about how auto index integrates with galleries, creates xml file I am not sure how I update this original template.
here is the link to the original auto index page http://photography.inmylens.com/galleries.php
Here is the updated auto index template with a new auto index which I selected in lighroom publisher http://photography.inmylens.com/galleries/album-set/
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … alleries&s[]=gallery&s[]=index
My second question is:
I created a favicon.ico which i have in my root. It works fine on all pages except my new auto index template http://photography.inmylens.com/galleries/album-set/
You can see if you inspect element it is calling favicon.ico the same as other pages
<link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="favicon.ico">
Thanks again for all your help
Brad
Ugh, I am sorry for asking such silly questions. Thank you
I have been more focused on trying to get my template right and learn the TTG application. I believe you correctly identified the problem with the ttg directory and word press being in the same public_html directory. On one of my tests I setup a subdomain and then the problem is gone. Sorry I am not technical with this and am trying.
