Paypal API Credential Access Options being offered:
"REST API"
"Braintree SDK"
"NVP/SOAP API integration"
Does Backlight 2 require one in particular?
Is the Paypal process to be looking at the REST API integration, thing? Anyone?
To follow-up, I accomplished this for the sandbox process, and it worked.
But now, trying to go live, not the same process.
Yeah, I've been on an infinite loop with Paypal for well over an hour, trying to find how I create/locate and/or get a username, password, & signature. Still trying to figure it out.
So I've done the process of "Testing Credentials" as per Backlight Documentation...
*****
PayPal offers the ability to test the checkout mechanism without real transactions going through. To use this mechanism, you'll need developer credentials from PayPal, obtained with the following steps:
Login to https://developer.paypal.com with your PayPal account
Click on Applications
Click on Sandbox accounts on the side menu
Create two accounts, one Business, and the other Personal
Click on the 'profile' link under the Business account
Click on the API Credentials tab
Find your three credentials (Username, Password and Signature) under the Classic TEST API credentials heading
Plug these into the PayPal “Testing” credential settings of the Cart Settings
Make sure that the cart setting PayPal Deployment is set to Testing
Test the cart, and when checking out via PayPal, log in with the username and password created for the Personal account on step 4.
It is important that before sending customers to your galleries, that you change the PayPal Deployment to Live so that real checkouts can be made.

The Testing worked fine for me. So now, to go "Live"? The last line says to change from testing to live.
The Backlight 2 Settings page has the testing credentials entered into those boxes.(thus it worked)
But to go "Live" I need to enter credentials into the "Paypal Live API - Username, Password, Signature" boxes. Where is this information accessed??
Hey Guys,
Trying to include a Product (Digital File) to not be taxed in the cart.
What's the trick here?
FYI, this is to be a "digital file" purchase, but I don't want it as a "downloadable" from the gallery, rather, I will send it by an email send to my clients directly. So it requires a communication with the client.
Seems this means I need to set it up as a "Physical Product" to bypass the "Downloadable Directory" section in the "Digital Products" option. Is this correct?
But as a "Physical" product, it wants to add tax automatically.
Thanks.

Hey Guys,
So I know how you turn Paypal on in the "Cart Settings" to make it active for your galleries.
Is there a way to have only some "select galleries" allow the Paypal option?
The "Cart Settings" seem to be global. And I need some galleries to allow clients to order via email only.
Is this possible?
Thanks.

Awesome. That's what I was looking for, Rod. Thanks, man!
Hi,
I have a site that was created in Adobe Creative Suite 6 (Dreamweaver, PS, etc.).
Currently, I use BL2 for client galleries only. It defaults to creating a "galleries" folder from within "TTG Publisher", in LR, at the "Top-level galleries directory".
So I do currently have this one top level "galleries" folder in my site that was created by Backlight 2.
I know I can rename this one folder location as well from within the LR-TTG Publisher.
Is it possible to have different LR Galleries published to multiple different folders for your existing website?
Thanks, Rod.
I to add clarity to my query, my site only has a few client galleries that were created with TTG Publisher. The rest was created in Adobe Creative Suite 6.
Hi All,
If I have a Client Gallery that I want to take to "off-line" status, but do not want it deleted in LR, how do I tell that gallery in the LR TTG Publisher to not appear online?
Thanks.
- Sol
Greast minds think alike. lol!
Yeah, just was coming back to tell you that I had changed that URL within the BL2 Settings panel, but had failed to do it in the LR Plugin Manager. Did that, it connected.
Sorry to be a pain, Rod. Thanks again.
OK, I just changed the site back to "https://" and again can't connect to BL2 from LR.
In BL2 "Settings", I changed the "Site URL" to https://solarviewstudios.art in BL2 settings. As well as the "redirect browser" to "Yes".
I'm getting the same error messages as though LR/TTG Publisher can't connect to the site.
Thoughts?
It might. They're using SSL? Did they tell you that your site address will now start with https?
If so, try changing your site url settings. There's also a setting under Privacy (in Settings) to redirect browsers to https
After I had originally had them change it, I did change the "Redirect to HTTPS" setting. But was still having the problems yesterday.
I will go ahead and change the website Url as you suggest. Seems like that should do it. I'll let you know.
Thanks Rod. Much appreciated.

Hey Rod, loaded this thread update and then saw your post. I'll take a look.
OK, just got off the support line with my hosting folks.
As mentioned above, They had turned the "Enable Force HTTPS" on my site. That seems to be the issue. We just turned it off and now I can Publish again from LR.
So next obvious question, what do I need to change in BL2 to make it play nice with my secure site status?
Hey Rod,
I sent an email to Ben. Waiting on a reply.
Just curious if you have a thought on this. We discussed this before. But, as I was getting "Not Secure" in my URL box, and I didn't want my clients to feel their carts were not secure for them, I contacted my web host.
After I loaded my first galleries with BL2, they changed my site to "encrypted" so as to make it more secure. Would that create an issue with BL2?
Re-installing the LR Publisher Module had no effect. Still denying access to BL2. Same messages listed in the previous post.
LR/TTG Publisher is giving me a error on "Check Authentication. So after updating all, as suggested, I entered a new password for the API. The LR Publishing Manager states that TTG Publisher is "(not saved)". Even after I have selected "Save".
And LR is not allowing me to execute any publishing.
Trying to Publish a Gallery Collection I get Error messages...
"Can’t update this collection.
Unable to perform action: getSetupForTemplate
Message: The page sent an action that was not available."
So it sounds like it can't communicate with BL2.
Is there a particular file that might need to be re-installed for BL2?
Any other suggestions???
So, should I re-install Publisher? Would that do any good?
And if I do, will I lose all my existing settings? Galleries, etc.?
OK. So I updated everything in the modules page. I re-downloaded and installed the TTG/LR Plug-in. Still getting the same error messages.
Hey Guys,
Just tried to upload a new client gallery from Lightroom/TTG Publisher and keep getting error messages.
I checked the Lightroom Publishing manager and "Check Authentication" fails.
Getting an Error Message box -
"Unable to perform checkAuth. Message: The page sent an action that was not available"
Any thoughts as to what may have changed here?
Thanks.
- Sol
Never mind. I found it.
Hey Guys,
the "Token" for images defaults to {Caption}. I want it to default to "File Name". What is the correct format for that?
I tried {file name} and {file_name}. Neither worked.
