Hi everyone. It has been a while since i updated my website, so I dug into it this month. If you had checked out my old site, you will see that not a lot changed with this update. I was pretty happy with everything I did last time. The main thing was going to a dark theme, but I did spend a lot of time cleaning things up in the background as well as focused on the look of the cart. I still need to update my profile picture, add some images to the Prints page, and get to processing my backlog of images and getting them posted. Take a look and let me know if you have any questions or comments!

That worked perfect to insert the text I wanted and I was able to get rid of the checkboxes and turn off invoiced checkout. Thanks so much for your help!

#4 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Cart checkboxes » 2020-02-14 06:59:06

That looks like it might work. I'd use the code if you don't mind. Do you have invoiced checkout turned on then?

Thanks!

#5 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Cart checkboxes » 2020-02-14 06:29:55

Just seems rather clunky when something right there in the cart would be much cleaner. I'll just look for a different way to handle it. Thanks Rod!

#6 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Cart checkboxes » 2020-02-14 04:10:21

Hey Rod. Sorry, I didn't get a notice that you had posted. Yeah, that is what I am seeing. The top line is an additional field, the others are checkboxes. Before, it showed as a checkbox in the cart itself, so you would need to check it before proceeding to PayPal. Thanks!

#7 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Cart checkboxes » 2020-02-13 09:16:45

Hi Rod! Thanks. I enabled invoiced checkout and that worked, but that isn't what I want to do. I still want to checkout thru PayPal but just have this checkbox on the cart page to let them know I will bill them later for the actual shipping fees. Maybe I did it using phpplugins before?

I swear I had this setup before, but it has been a while. I am going to switch back to billing for shipping after the order is placed. On one of my old sites, I had a checkbox on the cart page that had the customer check this box to acknowledge that fact. I have added a checkbox but it doesn't show up.

I have cleared templates and cache multiple times with no change. I have also checked my custom CSS to make sure I don't have it set to display: none somewhere. What am I doing wrong?

The only gallery setup on my test set is here: https://portfolios.montetrumbull.com/ga … andscape2/.

Thanks!

Thanks Rod. I was in a hurry and forgot that step!

I thought all was well until I tried to access my image galleries. I am getting this error:

Warning: require_once(./../../backlight/framework/Framework.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/trummonte/montetrumbull.com/galleries/03-seascape/lib.php on line 48

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required './../../backlight/framework/Framework.php' (include_path='.:') in /home/trummonte/montetrumbull.com/galleries/03-seascape/lib.php on line 48

I made sure to copy the .htaccess file into the Backlight directory.

So sorry to hear about. Thanks for passing along Rod.

It had been a while since I checked the forum and ran across this. Thanks so much Barry and Rod. I appreciate the compliments!

#14 Re: Backlight Showcase » Gone Live with Backlight » 2018-02-28 00:31:04

Hi TBC/Margo. I checked out your site this morning and am not seeing any images in your galleries. Am I missing something?

Thanks Matthew. I will play with that. Appreciate the quick response!

Hi guys. Thanks Daniel for reminding me I meant to get back to that! I played with it this morning and got things to fit nicely down to about 360px. What would be nice is to be able to target the social media buttons in the tray and turn them off on smaller displays. That is what I did on my previous version. I can't see a way to do that because the li itself does not have a separate class that I am seeing. Would that be something that could be changed in the future Matt?

I have updated my website to use the latest Pangolin templates and am really impressed. Matthew and Ben have done an outstanding job on this release!

It was just recently that I updated my site to Backlight from CE4 and I spent a lot of time developing my on version of the top pallet. This release made it a breeze to setup and the end result is a lot cleaner. I love the Justified gallery style since the majority of my images are mainly landscape orientation.

Take a look and let me know what you think: https://www.montetrumbull.com/.

Thanks again to Matthew, Ben, and Rod.

After working on it in spurts and constantly changing things every time, I finally settled with a final design and converted my CE4 to Backlight. I love the new tools and workflow in Backlight. Thanks again to Matt, Ben, and Rod. You are the greatest!

#22 Re: Backlight Support » Album set template not formatting correctly » 2017-04-01 05:29:26

I finally had a chance to play with this and got it working by deleting the Backlight folder, replacing it, and setting things back up. As for the CSS, I have been using Cloudflare for many years. When I am working on the site, I always disable it so changes are immediate, and then turn it back on later. Thanks for the help everyone!

Hi Rod. Both width and height are at 300px. I will try copying new Backlight files later.

Thanks - Monte

#24 Re: Backlight Support » Album set template not formatting correctly » 2017-03-30 23:55:41

I am using the Classic layout, 300px thumbnails, 6px margins, max 4 columns. I have played with all different settings and changed layouts as well. I also exported a template and imported it and that didn't work. I am travelling now, but will give Rod's idea of copying Backlight files over when I get a chance.

Thanks guys - Monte

Hi Rod. That is set correctly to the only template available.
