#1 Re: Announcements & Information » Updating website while traveling » 2014-07-26 04:59:27

Thanks,

That still leaves one problem. With the plug-in,  I can't just add to a gallery, I have to have all of images I want to keep plus the ones I want to add... I think

My only problem with the templates here is that when I am traveling, I know of no way to update my site from a different computer unless I duplicate and keep everything updated on two computers.

Less functional web sites have this advantage.

Is there an  option I don't know about

Thanks

Rod Barbee

I added the google link as you suggested.

The test at the google page modification doesn't work, but clicking the google icon on my home page does bring up the google page I am trying to connect to

I guess its been a month or so since last upload. I am still doing FTP out of LR 5 on a Mac with latest 10x operating system.

When I highlight a smart collection with about 80 images then go to Web I get an error message

=============
"ERROR

Switch View
<%--[[
********************************************************************************
Establish local variables
******************************************************************************** ]]
local refresh
if MAC_ENV then
refresh = "CMD-R"
=========

There is a small "unsaved web gallery" message and when I click on a small "Create Saved Web Gallery" message I get a message to

"Create Web Gallery with a location option "inside __DV images"

I can kind of figure out what I need to do but not where this stuff will go or how to organize nested galleries using this system.

Any help appreciated.

Where do I add this?

Thanks

#10 Re: General » Changing computer » 2013-08-28 11:07:27

Thanks.

But while I can find the TTG templates, I don't know where the modifications of font, color and comment that make up my personal gallery templates are kept.

#12 Re: General » Managing website from two computers » 2013-05-08 04:13:26

Thanks Kris

Would you tell me how you set up sync with Google drive. I downloaded the app but the required steps elude me

#13 Re: General » Finding my own post » 2013-05-06 23:57:22

Thanks. So simple but I didn't find it.

#14 Re: General » Managing website from two computers » 2013-05-06 23:56:12

Thanks,

The files  I'm interested in knowing about are not the catalog files but the template support files.

As I understand things, I can add to my website using any Lightroom catalogue, even a temporary travel catalog. So if I've made some formatting changes or updated the templates just before leaving home, I want to know which directories to transfer to my laptop. In fact I was thinking about backing them up onto Google drive then adding them back to my laptop from wherever I am when I need them

Sometimes there are several days between posting a question and looking for responses.

As I age, I more often forget the exact wording of the question and then have trouble locating an answer, if any.

I see no link on these pages to access one's own posts

Is there a way?

Thanks

I manage; my website from an IMac. When I travel with my MacBook, I take pictures but cannot manage my website.

What file content do I need to transfer to my laptop before each trip, if I want to maintain the same functionality on the road as at home?

Thanks

When you've set up your pages, galleries, and indices with pretty much everything at the default settings, and when a visitor to your pages, indices and galleries actually clicks on the facebook or g+ icon...

What exactly happens?

Is it purely a local counter or does it reflect back to the visitors facebook or google+ page

And can they be set up to share

#18 Re: General » Autoindex failure during CE3 update » 2013-04-03 20:15:33

Thanks

Clearing my cache did not help but after I posted I rebooted and the site looked fine... what was happening was that all of the thumbnails appeared to be overwriting each otherl.

Later, a similar problem occurred where the text for the exported thumbnails was below the images... again after clearing the cache plus rrebooting the problem was gone

I saw the yellow text on my wife's computer, but not on mine... don't know what the problem is there because I didn't make any font changes from the default for any of the other changes I am making.

I've replaced Pages and the Autoindices and everythhing has gone ok with one exception...

The Autoindex that brings up what appears to be a corrupted file at

http://donvineimages.com/galleries/kansas/index.php

The template for this autoindex was obtained from several others that differed only in the text and target location.

The galleries are still CE2 but this template is not seeing them

#20 Re: Announcements & Information » Updated versions? » 2013-03-28 20:33:52

Each time I click on one of the downloaded CE3 plugins, I see a dialog that says "Please upgrade the catalog file 'Lightroom Catalog' for use with Lightroom 3."

Problem is I am using Lightroom 4.x and don't know what this message means.

#21 Re: Announcements & Information » Updated versions? » 2013-03-28 20:22:01

I've received the page for the Bundle downloads.

1. There are about 4 zips with CE2 listed and a bunch with CE3 listed... what do I click to install the C3 bundle? And why are there both versions?

2. If I install CE3 pages to replace the CE2 pages at the top of my gallery, will the existing CE2 autoindices and galleries continue to work as I gradually replace the CE2 autoindices and CE2 galleries with CE3 modules. OR do I have to convert everything to CE3 at one time.
