Re: Modified Search

Martin, you can use

.album-template-id-3 cite {
    display: none;
}

to hide the unwanted text.

Re: Modified Search

Hi Dan,

Have been able to hide that text... but for some reason I am now having trouble with "The Searh info" text on the results page.

I have modified and deleteed it in the languages section (as well as clearing , but I cannot get it to change or disappear.

My site is www.tasmanianphotos.com - if you search "Carlton" a subset of images will appear from the homepage, and any other search will return you no images.  You should be able to see what is happening.

Cheers,
Chumby

Re: Modified Search

Sorry, don't know what you mean by 'The search info' text.

Re: Modified Search

Thanks for getting back to me Dan.

On the results return page there is some text appearing above the search box, called "The Search Intro".

The only reference to this text I can find is in the settings - languaes - manage languages, then publisher - search intro.

I try anc change this text but it always comes back up as the default string - "The Search Intro"

Have tried different browsers and clearning the chace but I am always still getting that text.

Think I am doing something wrong but I just can't find out what the issue is.

Does that help?

Cheers

Re: Modified Search

When a page is loaded, the language settings are saved in something called 'sessions'. So when you load another page or reload the same page again, the language settings are not updated. To get a new session and therefore your changed settings, you might have to logout of backlight, or even restart your browser.

At least this is what I remember to have read a while ago in the forum.

Re: Modified Search

To reset the language for the current browser, log into Backlight admin (if you aren't already logged in for the browser) then log out again.  The Backlight admin logout code clears all settings.

Re: Modified Search

Looking at the code, any changes to Language entries are meant to clear the localisation entries in the current browser.  However these are stored per application (publisher, designer, admin, etc.) and they're not all been cleared as they're meant to be.  I've fixed it for a future version of Backlight.

Another way of clearing language settings, and all sessions values, in a given browser, is by appending ?destroy to any Backlight URL.
