When problems arise when updating from Backlight 1 to Backlight 2, the most common cause is from putting the index.php and .htaccess files in the wrong places:
The first thing to check is that you’ve placed the index.php and .htaccess files in the proper locations.
There are two sets of these files: one in the root of the unzipped Backlight-2-Installer-107/ folder and one set inside of the backlight/ folder.
These need to be in the same places on the actual site.
