Upgrading to Backlight 2

What am I doing wrong, here?

I delete or remove all the files in the backlight folder except for /backlight/data and /backlight/custom. Make sure to leave any gallery folders untouched. Anyway, there are no gallery folders in the backlight folder;

I upload via ftp all the files (.htaccess, index.php and the env.php.skel ) but not the custom or data folders from the backlight 2 installation folder into the backlight folder;

I access the installer, at https://nathaliemoliavko-visotzky.com/e … installer/;
I am asked to supply my Backlight 2 order number and email address;
I then press “Log into Installer” and press “Install Backlight 2”;
I am then informed that “Backlight 2 was installed successfully” I then, press “Continue to Backlight”;
I then try to log in with username admin, password ttg8888 and fail...but, this is an upgrade so I use the user/password combo already in use. Ok;
I then visit each of the Admin, Publisher and Designer menu items to upgrade the databases;
I go to Admin ⇒ Backlight Modules to install or update any add-ons that I have purchased and I also add the Okapi modules this being an upgrade;
I then visit the Backlight landing page and click on Update Album Files;

I do not install the latest Publisher plug-in because I already have one installed from previous installations.

And yet, I get an error message when accessing the albums:

Something went wrong
Unable to find the module module-theater.

Have you removed this from backlight/designer/modules? If so, either copy the module back, or change the template used by this album. in EngineFactory.php on line 404

Also, the BIO and Contact+CV pages display an HTTP500 error

Re: Upgrading to Backlight 2

UPDATE:

I changed the index.php files in the Fr and En sides and the BIO and CONTACT+CV pages now display, although not in https mode (not secure) like the rest of the site.

All that's left is that pesky problem with the albums...

Re: Upgrading to Backlight 2

The error implies that you haven’t installed the Backlight 2 version of Theater

Re: Upgrading to Backlight 2

But that's the problem: I did!
From the Backlight Admin page:

Backlight 2 Add-on: Theater pangolin-theater 2.0.2

It's there, I just did the upgrade and yet it doesn't show up.

Re: Upgrading to Backlight 2

Did you create a new Theater template and assign it to any albums that were using the old version?

This is how the site looks in ftp:
NAT_backlight-structure-ftp
and in Backlight:
NAT+backlight-structure

Maybe I'm not too clear as to how to assign the module?

In Backlight>Publisher>Galerie>Assign Templates, I notice that the choices I have are Galerie or Standard-Album templates.

How do I assign the videos to the theatre-module?

Re: Upgrading to Backlight 2

I don’t see a Pangolin Theater album template

What often happens is that you had BL 1 albums using a Theater template.
When updating to BL2, the old BL 1 Theater module is gone and therefore you get the error that module-theater cannot be found.
If that’s what you had, you need to create a new Pangolin Theater template and assign it to the albums that were using the BL 1 Theater template

You need to first create a new Pangolin Theater album template

Re: Upgrading to Backlight 2

Beginning to see the light...after creating Pangolin templates for the Pages and the theatre modules, I succeded in assigning the albums to these new templates (what took me so long?).

Formatting is a bit different than in the previous Okapi version but it's getting there.

Once I designed the Fr side, I exported the templates to the En side. Should be identical, right? Alas, no. The title and the breadcrumbs are ok in the Fr side but aligned very differently in the En side.

Checked templates and CSS but I still can't find how to design these elements as I want them.

It will come in time, I suppose.

Thanks to Ben, Rod and Daniel.

Could be something to do with page templates. When exporting the album template did you include the page template?

Re: Upgrading to Backlight 2

That did it: I exported the "correct" page template and it's related CSS to the fr side and voilà! Both sides are now identical.

One other thing eludes me. I'm trying to get breadcrumbs leading back to the gallery page. As yet, I have the album title as a breadcrumb but not where it comes from, the gallery.

Could it be because the theatre page is Pangolin and all the others are Okapi?
This would mean I'd have to create a Pangolin page for every Okapi page? And since it is not possible to import Okapi templates into Pangolin pages, that could mean a complete redesign.

Just when I thought this upgrade to Pangolin was easy and straightforward.

Edit the top level gallery. There's an option for breadcrumbs
In Backlight, go to Publisher > click on name of top-level gallery > click on Edit Properties
