Backlight 2 Upgrade - No Cart

***Sorry - just realized I posted this to the wrong Backlight support category***

In a previous post I indicated the upgrade went well except no homepage. I've also now just realized that I'm not showing my Carts anymore.

So did I misunderstand that I would also need to purchase a cart update in order to continue to have a functioning cart in Backlight 2? i.e. Does my prior Backlight v1 cart not work in v2?

Re: Backlight 2 Upgrade - No Cart

same here, the passage of version 1 to version 2, I thought it was not necessary to resume a license Cart, but apparently so.  I bought a license.  you must be eligible for a discount as a cart user.  but it's not that expensive and it's worth it.  and for publishers it also helps to support them, after all at least Backlight does not work in subscription and it's great, so it does not matter I do not mind paying for major updates

Re: Backlight 2 Upgrade - No Cart

Backlight 2 and all of the modules, including the Cart, was a massive reworking that took 18 months of development time.  Charging for the upgrade helps recover some of that cost.

Re: Backlight 2 Upgrade - No Cart

Totally reasonable Ben. Happy to pay for the Cart upgrade.
