Re: I want to install in another directory.

not a problem, a lot of people do just that.
Create a new folder on the server. Install Backlight into that folder.

Are you using Backlight to create an entire site or are you using it to only display albums?

I want to only display albums.
Installation in another folder results in a 404 error.

If you only want to display albums, then install the backlight folder in the root of your site. But DON'T install .htaccess or index.php in the root. For gallery only, you will NOT need these two files in the root. They can be ignored.

Re: I want to install in another directory.

I'm assuming you're installing in the albums/ folder?

How far have you gotten? Have you created albums?

How do you get to the 404 error? Is it by clicking on the Home link in your Backlight album? If so, that is not surprising as the items in the menu set, by default, point to pages you would need to create. But if you're just using Backlight for albums, you'll need to edit your Menu Set and change the menu items to reflect the reality of your site's structure.

Re: I want to install in another directory.

Thank you so much!
After installing normally, I deleted the .htaccess in the root and it worked well.
