Content on Home Page and Galleries

I have BL2 and am using Publisher to publish albums. I've been able to have one album show up on my home page. Here are my questions.
1. Is there a way to have the albums rotate randomly. I've been in "BL2-Admin" (Is that what it's called?) and gone to the home page, design and assigned the album. It works well. I was hoping there was an option to allow a random presentation. No such thing.

2. I'm also considering having my home page open to a slide show. I believe that would require a template. Not sure where to find them, and how to install and use.

3. I'm also considering a Gallery Plugin. e.g. Justified. I downloaded a free gallery e.g. BWRAQ just to try it out but not sure how to install and use it.

Re: Content on Home Page and Galleries

1. There is no option for that. Perhaps using phplugins and code that queries the database?

2. Either use Galleria or Theater’s Vegas slideshow. Both are available in the store under the Add-Ons tab
http://theturninggate.net/backlight-2/

3. The Justified grid option is part of the standard Pangolin album.
BWRAQ is a template preset (for a page template), not a gallery plugin

OK I bought Galleria and it's downloaded and installed. BTW-That's a slick process---painless. Now what. How do I work with it? I haven't found any directions/documentation to guide me.

Re: Content on Home Page and Galleries

Just create a new album template. In the Type drop-down, select Pangolin Galleria. Start with the default settings and create an album. Then start playing to see what it can do.
You may need to clear template cache to see your changes take effect.
If you happen to increase image size in the template you'll need to republish the album.

There's a bit of documentation under Galleria on the Documents page. http://backlight.theturninggate.net/doc … p#galleria

Hi Rod,

I'm curious if you have a sample page for the BWRAQ preset.  I'm curious what it is.

Thanks!

Re: Content on Home Page and Galleries

You can download it from your Backlight > Templates page. Click on the Download Template Presets button and you'll be taken to a page that has previews of the presets linked to the downloads. ( http://theturninggate.net/template-presets/ )
Download and import the template then create a test page and assign the template to it. That will give you better idea of what it looks like.
