BL2 admin page oddity

For some odd reason, my Backlight 2 admin page menu items fail to drop-down on admin, etc. I click on admin, for example and the page loads correctly but I don't seem to be able to get to the sub-menu items such as language.

Tried Chrome, my main browser, IE, Firefox and all are the same. I'm on the road and my notebook has a touch screen and I haven't been able to try on a non-touch screen device.

Chrome on my android phone loads and displays the sub-menus in the mobile version just fine.

My website works just fine as well. https://jamesherman.net/

Thoughts?

Re: BL2 admin page oddity

Have you installed the latest updates? This was recently fixed.
From the main Backlight dashboard you should still be able to tap on the Backlight Modules link under Quick Links.

If this doesn’t fix the issue, post back and list the devices you’re using.

If nothing else, for now, you could disable the touch screen. That’s what I needed to do while testing until the fix was applied.

Re: BL2 admin page oddity

You may need to disable your touch screen then.

Re: BL2 admin page oddity

Can you try accessing the menu using just touch rather than the mouse? Right now I'm having issues using the mouse on the Backlight menu, but touch works.

Re: BL2 admin page oddity

Hi,

I’m having the same issue on the ms surface pro using Firefox, works ok when using touch to operate. also works with the mouse on the same computer using  ms edge, so I would think it is a browser or windows issue.

Re: BL2 admin page oddity

BL2 Admin menu not working as expected.  None of the drop down menus work to display an option when selecting the drop down arrow.  If I click the menu item it takes me to the first option that should be in the list.

The only way I can access the submenus is to use the breadcrumbs.

I just updated to the most recent version of Backlight 2 - 2.02

Re: BL2 admin page oddity

Try clearing browser cache.
I was having issues on two test sites and the recent fix cleared it up on both.
If clearing browser cache doesn’t work, consider posting Guest Updater credentials so someone can take a look.

Re: BL2 admin page oddity

Thank you!

Clearing the Chrome cache files solved the problem.  I had been using several different browsers and did not think of that.

All is working as expected now.

Good to hear, I’m sure Matt didn’t want to go another round with that problem smile
