Selections in Client Response

Is there a way to select images in the enlarged image mode without having to go back to the thumbnails view?
And can there be more than 4 columns in thumbnail view?

My guess is that you're using the Single Image Page presentation (a link to an album would help). You need to be using the Slide Show presentation for this.

And can there be more than 4 columns in thumbnail view?

Sure. Set this in the Thumbnail Grid section of the album template under Columns at Screen Breakpoints.

Re: Selections in Client Response

The gallery in question is here: http://pideja.ca/gbc/galleries/vendetta/

I'm using the CLASSIC album style and I've set the max columns at 6 and the min at 5. This is in Thumbnail Presentation.
As for the Large Image presentation, I use Single Image but the alternative is Photoswipe.

Re: Selections in Client Response

You using an old Backlight 1.1 album template with the new Client Response module?

The single image presentation doesn't offer the selection check box. If Photoswipe will do that, then switch the presentation to Photoswipe. Otherwise, create a Pangolin album template for your Client Response albums and use the Slideshow presentation.

For the thumbnails, if you want more control, create a Pangolin based album template.

you may need to give the thumbnail grid more room by balancing the the gallery width with thumbnail size and number of columns.

Re: Selections in Client Response

Is there an "easy" quick way to upgrade from Backlight 1.1 to Pangolin? In other words, I would like to avoid redesigning, rebuilding from scratch.

Re: Selections in Client Response

You'll have to redesign.

Re: Selections in Client Response

I was afraid of that. What if I clone or copy an existing OKAPI template and use it as a base to re-design in Pangolin? And I suppose it does not matter that my Client Response gallery is Pangolin...I will have to re-install it too?

That won't work. When you create a new album template you'll have a choice between the old Okapi or new Pangolin album. So if you clone an Okapi template, it can only make another Okapi template.

And I suppose it does not matter that my Client Response gallery is Pangolin...I will have to re-install it too?

The album you linked to above is an Okapi-based album.
You'll need to have an available Pangolin page template (create one if you don't have one) and then create a new Pangolin Album template and assign the Pangolin page template to it.
Once you've created a new Pangolin-based CR album template, you can assign that template to the existing album.
