I would like to give my customers the opportunity to choose/select images and to download them with a single click. Is this possible and if yes: how?

The easiest thing to do is to manually place all images in a zip folder, upload it to your site, and provide a link to the folder.
There is no way to select multiple images and download just those selections all at once.
