automated slideshow for parents

Is there any combination of Backlight/TTG solutions that would allow me to fashion a hands off slideshow that runs endlessly?

My application is for my parents and my siblings/self...

At the moment the best solution for my parents has been a Windows 10 screensaver, which ironically does a lot. Runs all day long, zero interaction, keeps working without interaction and they love it. But it's largely a manual kind of setup mostly disconnected from my Lightroom catalog.

I envision this would be similar to a digital gallery in a museum, with a display monitor + media player, where the staff wouldn't want/need to touch anything, but during open hours the screen would be on and cycle through a variety of albums over the course of weeks (16 hrs daily @ 10 seconds per photo is about 6K photos per day).  Would be even better if the automatic slideshow could be preempted by interacting with a menu, but then after some time of inactivity simply restart.

Vegas slideshow (in the Theater module) will run continuously.
It can be paused, but then must be manually restarted.
It must also be viewed online in a web browser.; it's not stand-alone.
(I think it could also be run in a web browser in a virtual server)

I think it's definitely something Backlight can handle, as Rod says. But have you considered a more physical approach? A digital picture frame might be a nice solution, and with the holidays coming up ...

Re: automated slideshow for parents

Thanks Rod/Matthew - I found http://theturninggate.net/galleries/01- … ll-screen/ and it's been running for 12+ hours and keeps displaying, so that's good.

Well, I guess I have some more digging to do here to learn about all this - thanks for the quick answers, this might be a solution for me ;-)
