Gallery Set Thumbnail...

Very new to this.  How do I get a thumbnail to show up on my gallery sets?

Re: Gallery Set Thumbnail...

When you edit your album set in LR you can select a cover image under Base Settings and that will be your thumbnail.

Re: Gallery Set Thumbnail...

It's set to Random... and I have options of all the images from the sub-galleries but for some reason it isn't auto-populating.

Re: Gallery Set Thumbnail...

I don't think random works for album sets, you have to select an image.

Re: Gallery Set Thumbnail...

Picking a specific photo did work!  Thanks.  Still would prefer to say Random but also be nice to limit to a particular gallery or galleries.

Re: Gallery Set Thumbnail...

You can use the Random setting if you manually add thumbnails to the Album Set's thumbnails/ folder.

In Lightroom, export a set of images that are representative of the albums within the album set. Make the export setting such that the thumbnails are of the needed size (whatever you've set in albums should do, unless you need them bigger)

Then use FTP and upload the thumbnails to the album set's thumbnails/ folder.

Do this for each album set that you want to use the random setting on.

Re: Gallery Set Thumbnail...

Cool, I had forgotten about manually creating the thumbnails.
