I have an existing website and want to replace it with Backlight. However, I want to install the new site on a local server so I can customize the site and test it before replacing the old website. I'll be using WAMP server on my desk top. What issues will have to deal with when transfering the WAMP version to my web hosting site? Secondly, I would like to customize the font and colors for the new site, as well as including images on the about and contact pages. I assume the fonts and colors can be customized using custom css pages. Correct? Is it possible to include images on pages other than the gallery papes?

you can do all that you outlined.
The issues with WAMP would be things like needing to change settings in Backlight like Site URL as well as changing the Publisher API URL and API key in Lightroom after you've uploaded the backlight/ folder to your site.
For the most part, customizing fonts and colors can be done from within the Backlight Designer. Some things like changing the fonts for image captions from what you've set in Backlight would require custom css. For example: http://ttg-tips-and-tricks.barbeephoto. … rge-images
Insert images into pages using HTML in the page copy. I upload images for this purpose to a folder in the root of my site rather than use the Backlight upload feature. That way I can use a url like: /img/image-name.jpg. A url like that will work with a WAMP site or a site developed in a sub-domain or the main site (as long as you use a folder in the root to hold the images)

Also, I wouldn't move published galleries. So un-publish your albums before the move, then re-publish from Lightroom after hooking things back up to the live site. This being the case then, I wouldn't publish any more albums to your test server than you'll need to setup and test templates.
