Mobile problems with iPhone 6 IOS 10.3.1

Hello,

I updated my iPhone 6 to IOS 10.3.1 this afternoon.  The large image presentation (Photoswipe) no longer works properly.  When the phone is rotated to other orientation than was it was when Photoswipe launched the image(s) will be messed up.  You will see a partial image and/or a second partial image.  This is true if using Safari or Chrome.  Here is a link to one of my galleries.  www.bretculp.com/gallery/075-panoramic-photo-gallery/

Any ideas?  Thanks.

UPDATE: I see there is some discussion about it here. https://github.com/dimsemenov/PhotoSwipe/issues/1315

Re: Mobile problems with iPhone 6 IOS 10.3.1

Seeing the same thing on my recently updated iPhone 6.
And it looks like it's happening with other light box/slideshows besides Photoswipe.

Hopefully Apple will fix it soon.

Re: Mobile problems with iPhone 6 IOS 10.3.1

Thanks, guys. I'm still on 10.2.1.

From the sound of it, there's not much I can do to solve this. I'm hoping that either Apple will fix the issue in their next update, or that script authors will implement some workaround in their JS.

As a temporary workaround, you might use the single-image HTML pages as your presentation, unless you are using features only supported in our Photoswipe implementaiton (CRG, etc.).

Else you might advise your visitors to view the site in portrait orientation for best experience. I'm looking into methods of locking a site to portrait orientation, but there seems no good way of doing it; the methods I'm seeing are all hacks I'd rather avoid.

With luck, this will be a short-lived issue. I will try to keep a finger on the pulse of this one. If anyone should find more information on their own, though, please share it here.

Re: Mobile problems with iPhone 6 IOS 10.3.1

Hi All,

Do any of you know if the IOS 10.3 mobile issue has been addressed by Apple, or anybody else yet?  What's the word on the street?

Thanks

Re: Mobile problems with iPhone 6 IOS 10.3.1

I haven't heard anything more about it. The Fancybox author has adjusted his script to work around this issue, so that's good news. Fancybox will be rolling out with the Backlight 1.2 update. I'm still not sure when that will be, though. I've been traveling, and have fallen behind schedule because of it. I'm hoping to be back to full productivity after the 18th, if not sooner, and then want to get the update finished and out as quickly as I can manage it.

The latest iOS update (10.3.2) looks like it's fixed this problem

Hey Rod,

Interesting.  It's still broken on my iPhone 6 with 10.3.2.  What device are you viewing with?

Oops, I spoke too soon. You're right, it's still screwed up.
(I forgot to rotate the phone. :-/ )

Re: Mobile problems with iPhone 6 IOS 10.3.1

Matthew

In your post above (11 May) you mentioned that a workaround in Fancybox will roll out in the Backlight 1.2 update. I've just updated to 1.2.1 and can't see any difference (nor mention of it in the release notes). Did the workaround make it into 1.2?

Many thanks, Chris

Re: Mobile problems with iPhone 6 IOS 10.3.1

the update seems to have made it. My test albums are behaving as they should now.

Did you update your album templates to a Pangolin template?
Also try clearing browser cache and template cache.

Re: Mobile problems with iPhone 6 IOS 10.3.1

The fix should be a part of Fancybox 3.1, which is included in our update.

Re: Mobile problems with iPhone 6 IOS 10.3.1

Ah, I hadn't realised it was Pangolin-only. Now I've read a bit more about Pangolin pages it makes sense. I created a new Pangolin Page Template, and Album Template using Slideshow, and can see that the workaround is now there. Just have to work out the other new settings now...

Many thanks, Chris
