Allowed text in copy

Good day,

when I enter text in a Backlight page, Backlight seems to interprete some characters not as text.
E.g. a dash "-" or a number like "2." seem to result in effects like line breaks and the character itself is not displayed.

Is there a list of "forbidden" characters and the effects when using them? And can these banned elements be masked somehow so they are treated as text again?

Thanks,
Markus

Re: Allowed text in copy

Backlight pages can use html or Markdown.
In Markdown, dashes and numbers, depending on how they're used, can create something you might not expect.
You may need to escape certain characters, like dashes
See this source for using Markdown: https://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax#em

Numbers can be used to create list items, so be sure to take a look at the lists section.
Also take a look at the Backslash Escapes section
