Publishing Service corrupted or moved

My publish service on LR got corrupted.  I reinstalled the plugin and am able to upload photos to my website, but I can't manage existing albums and album sets.  Is there an easy fix for this.

Also, I have no issue with removing all existing galleries and albums and starting over.  Is there an easy way to do this?  Thanks

Mark

Re: Publishing Service corrupted or moved

are you working from the same catalog that created the albums in the first place?

You may need to send some info to Ben. See this page:

Hi Mark,

Could you also tell what you're running on, please -- CE4 or Backlight?

Yes Im working from the same catalog and albums as previously.  Also this is CE4.  I am looking to shift to Backlight, but want to ensure all is on order before I do.  My site is not that big, so to start from scratch is not that big of a deal to me.  Just need to know how to do that best.

Re: Publishing Service corrupted or moved

Thanks for your answers, Mark. After re-installing the publisher plugin, how did things look in Lightroom? Were your published albums and album sets still appearing under Publish Services? They should have been, meaning that they should still have existed in your catalog.

Re: Publishing Service corrupted or moved

Also, I tried going on the server, Bluehost, to remove a photo from an album on the gallery using the file manager to find and delete the photo in question.  I deleted the photo from the photos folder and thumbnail folders but when you go tot the album there is still a "placeholder" where the photo was.  See attached link; deleted folder is _MSM9927.  http://www.markandmichellegallery.com/g … -sep-2016/
I am obviously missing something but have no idea where it is.

Re: Publishing Service corrupted or moved

Simply removing the image file does not alter the source code for the page; that image has a space in the gallery, and the gallery will try to load it whether the image file is present or not. For Lightroom-published galleries, such changes should always be made from Lightroom.

If the connection between Lightroom and your online galleries has been irrecoverably broken, then you'll want to force-remove the galleries from your host. This should be a last resort, though. The publish services collections should still exist in your Lightroom catalog; if they've gone missing, that shouldn't have happened simply by having the plugin uninstalled.

After reinstalling the publish service plugin, none of the album/album sets appeared in the Lightroom Publish services section.  It was like I started from scratch.  How do you "force remove the galleries"?  Thanks!

Re: Publishing Service corrupted or moved

Have you tried restoring your catalog from an earlier backup? This might restore the Publisher albums.

Force removal probably means deleting the albums (and album sets) via FTP as well as removing the entries from the database.

Have you sent the necessary info to Ben as outlined in the link I provided above?

Re: Publishing Service corrupted or moved

The most straightforward was to remove all albums and start again on the server is to remove all albums and sets under galleries/ via FTP and to rename (or remove) the file ttg-be/data/publisher/master.sq3.

Note that the second step also resets all Publisher settings, so you'd need to go into the Publisher settings and update anything you had changed, including the API Key.

Re: Publishing Service corrupted or moved

Ben, Thanks.  In lieu of FTP, could I not simply delete those files and albums on Blue Host using the File Manager tool under cPanel?  All the files in a question would be located in the public_html folder, correct?  Thanks
