What does this mean?

or to remove all albums within your Backlight instance prior to migrating from CE4.

The above is in the migration documentation.  I have done the backlight install and the publisher install.  I have not done or looked elsewhere.  I would now like to migrate my albums.

Can I just go ahead and migrate or do I need to remove something?

Re: What does this mean?

what that means is if you've created new albums (for testing purposes, for instance) before migration, you should delete them and any album sets prior to performing the migration.
Be sure to delete them from within Publisher.
