Video

OK!

So I'm thinking of hosting some videos, nothing special, but what I know of video could be written on a postage stamp!

I have some videos that are .VOB so does anyone know of a good free converter for Mac. And what format should I convert them to, presumably html5 for stage?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: Video

I like EasyHTML5Video for conversion.
http://easyhtml5video.com/

It's a paid utility, though.

You could also try the free Miro Video Converter:
http://www.mirovideoconverter.com/

Last I used it, I didn't like it as much. Not sure whether it's improved at all since then.

For HTML5 video, don't forget to hit the documentation for info about setting up MIME types for video via .htaccess.

Re: Video

Thanks Matt,

I'll have a look. Only reason for asking about free was I thought it would be a way of dipping my toe in the water as I only have a couple to do right away.

Re: Video

No worries. Miro should get the job done.

Don't forget that CE4 Stage allows you to setup a template and manage video pages from CE4 Publisher. ;-)
Of course, you'll need to FTP the video files separately. But it will save you having to export-and-upload each video page.
