Two Galleries pages-same Content/description area ( Solved )

Hi

I created two gallery type pages, one in Galleries and the other in Info.
Althought the  Content/description area are ditterent, the one in the Info page appears the same than in the Galleries page.

Is it a bug or a misworking from me?

Site is in setup and not published yet.

br

Fredy

Hi Fredy,
Can't really say until we can see it. Can you put it online and provide links so we can get a better idea of what you're seeing?
Either that or provide some screen shots

Hi Rod

I have just republihed

Content/description for Info (Oeuvres récentes) pages should be "Voici quelques-uns de mes derniers dessins"

texte-info.JPG

instead of "Mes galleries de dessin"

Ok. I still can't say much without seeing the online version. Can you post a link?

Sorry, I forgot it

http://martine-cheval.be/galleries.php

Maybe must I admit that it is not possible to have two "Gallery type" pages on the same site, or at least that I'm not able to manage them.

However if I look at some other sites (like Kristen's one) it seems that there are several "Gallery" pages.

the reason you're seeing the same text is that those are the same pages. Check the target in your navigation.  It looks like you've got both links targeted to the /galleries.php page.

Kristen has a main Galleries page that is an index to her other galleries. She also has her Wall Decor page, that appears to be managed by a separate instance of Publisher (with a top-level folder named "wall", which is probably just a folder). She's simply created a menu item for it. Nothing too magic there. That particular page is not part of Pages, but a separate, Publisher managed album

OK

I thouhgt tha in the pane "Navigation Hyperlinks", Target was leading to something like a template, not directly to a page.

Thanks.

nope, just simply pointing to a page. Don't try to complicate things any more than needed wink

Do You have/use CE4 Autoindex? If You want two pages which both behave like the "Galleries" page You might try this:

  • Build an Autoindex page with CE4 Autoindex that shares settings with CE4 Pages and upload it to -- let's call it -- "galleries2/" on the server.

  • If You want to publish to it with publisher, set up a second publisher instance with Lightroom's plugin manger and set the gallery home setting to galleries2. Give it a name that helps You to

  • not mix up the different publisher services, but always choose the right publisher service to publish into the right branch.
Set up a navigation item in CE4 Pages that points to galleries2/

I haven't tried this yet, but I see no reasons why it shouldn't work.

It works fine. Many people do this for a "clients" section on their sites. You can also name your Publisher instances to keep them all straight.

Re: Two Galleries pages-same Content/description area ( Solved )

Thanks Michael and Rod

For now I solved the issue using a stage page and it words. I didn't try to publish pictures in this Stage with publisher yet. If it works it will stay in the state, if not I'll have to setup an AutoIndex.
