Search Album Template not working

Good morning,

Since upgrading to Backlight2 my Search album template seems to be stuck on the setup I had with the previous Backlight.

Whatever album template I choose or however I change the Album Copy it just ignores it.

Is there something I missed with the upgrade specific to Search?

Thanks,

Neville

Re: Search Album Template not working

make sure you assign a Pangolin album template to Search. Also try updating album files and clearing  both template and browser cache

Re: Search Album Template not working

Hello Rod,

Yep it has an album template applied, updated album files again, cleared all caches.....still the same.

Another quirk is that the Footer now appears at the top right and the Navigation has been floated to the left.

Also, I have just created a new Page template 'Page - Masonry - 1 Column' which was cloned from 'Page - Home - 2 Column - Masonry'

This 'Page - Masonry - 1 Column' is now behaving just like the Search page, i.e. the Footer now appears at the top right and the Navigation has been floated to the left. See example page below:

https://www.piktour.uk/galleries/golf/c … hips/2015/

The 'Page - Home - 2 Column - Masonry' template still works fine, used on my Home page, see below:

Re: Search Album Template not working

the problem with the footer and navigation is coming from your html.

You've forgotten a closing </font> tag.

Also, much of your html is depricated. the <font> tag is not used in HTML5, nor is the <align> tag.

Instead, use inline styling or custom css.

<div style="text-align:center; font-size: 18px; font-family: Arial;">
<p>Club Championships - 2015</p>
<p>St Mellion Golf Club's 2015 Mens &amp; Ladies Club Championships started on one of the nicest days of a distinctly average summer. The second day however was one of the worst of the summer with torrential rain bringing proceedings to a standstill. In the end the committee postponed the event after greens were flooding everywhere and the course had become unplayable. August 16th brought a nicer day but an unfortunate drop in crowd attendance possibly due to the postponement. The course was looking absolutely stunning though and provided it's usual stern test when playing off the back tees. The presentation of prizes was hosted on the Nicklaus 18th green afterwards by Club Captain Frank Blake and Lady Captain Mary Brinsley. Well done to all who took part and to the supporters who attended.</p>
</div>

though it appears that you don't need to designate a font in the html because your template is already using Arial as the base font.

for font-size, try em or px instead

Re: Search Album Template not working

Hello Rod,

You're right about the closing </font> tag......many thanks.

That has cured the https://www.piktour.uk/galleries/golf/c … hips/2015/ page.

Looking at the html I added to the Search album template it looks like I made the same mistake in there and left it off. However, it looks like it's been corrupted because whatever I put in there is now ignored. I have created different album templates (Album - Search - 1 & 2) and tried to use them but again they are ignored.

Is there another way to amend the html that Search is using?

Thanks,

Neville

Any text for the search page is entered in Backlight > Settings > Languages. Click on Manage Language for each language you're using and scroll down to the Publisher section: Search Intro.
